How was your New Year's Eve?

SIL and BIL and their two kids, and DH and I and our three kids, went to a friends' house. Friends have two kids and also his mom lives with them.

We made an awesome dinner of tacos/burritos/fajitas and it was sooo yummy. We all ate too much. Then we retired to the basement and played Wii RockBand. Finally we all got tired and gave up and went home - imagine our chagrin when one of us looked at the clock and realized it was 9:30. My, aren't we just party animals.

When we got home, DH watched old NCIS episodes, DD15 played on the internet, and DD9 and DD6 laid on the bed in DD9's room and watched old DVR episodes of kids' tv shows. I was in my room, watching a little HGTV and talking on the phone to my BFF. All of us, including my friend, were just trying desperately to stay awake till midnight. Finally, at 11:50, we turned to "New Year's Rockin' Eve" to watch the ball "drop". By 12:03 we were all in bed.

Now it's time for the Rose Parade, and waffles!
I am cooking a ham for dinner, and looking forward to a restful day with family.

DH and I had a quiet evening. We originally planned to go to the Festival of Lights at the zoo--but it was a little damp and we both ended up working into the early evening. I didn't want to go for just an hour or two!

Anyhow, did anyone watch poor Dick Clark? Oh my, when he tried to countdown to midnight it was soooo sad.

My parents and I went out to dinner with my boyfriend's parents. Meanwhile, my boyfriend was running at the restaraunt we were at. It was a nice dinner, but interesting, needless to say. After he got off of work, I went back to his house and stayed there until midnight.

Thought I'd be getting a phone call at midnight....well, never really believed THAT would happen but was hoping. The phone didn't ring, and I went to bed.

Meh, kinda boring. I went to a party at a friend's house and was having fun shooting pool and throwing darts and stuff until all of the rest of their friends showed up. I think I was the only non-smoker there, and everyone else (probably 25 people) was basically chain-smoking, so I ended up having to leave very early. As it was, I ended up with a horrible headache and my eyes are all gross this morning and my throat hurts. One or two people smoking doesn't bother me at all, but I just couldn't handle that number. So I came home and watched TV and went to bed.

Quiet, cozy, and warm at home.

Same here. DH and I stayed up to watch the ball drop, then went to bed soon afterward. A peaceful ending to 2009 (quite a turbulent year for us) and a peaceful beginning to 2010 starting with a nice, relaxed, hot breakfast of pancakes, sausage and biscuits!

I'm so glad DH didn't work last night. A full moon on NYE? It would have been double the crazies and drunk drivers. We were very happy with how it all turned out for us.

We went to a friends party with the kids. It was fun. Played some games, drank, had some shots and hugged and kissed everyone at midnight. Lots of other kids there for our kids to hang with.

The house we were at the parents just bought their kids a bassett hound pup for Christmas so the kids were loving the puppy. She was soooo cute!

We went to dinner after work and then to a local pub that a friend owns. We were home by 10 and asleep by 10:30. I really didn't plan on staying out last night. We did have fun while we were out.

Thanks! I am, now, and pretty much anything's better than the wicked-nasty hangover I would have had had I stayed at the party last night.

I AM SO SO TIRED!! I am past the point of delirium...

I didn't go to bed till 530am, and my parents are working, which wasn't supposed to happen, so im stuck here with my little siblings who are acting like loonies!

7pm can't come soon enough.

Last night was great fun!! Played 4 different games, and laughed our heads off. Lots of yummy goodies and whatnot. I was a crazy person till 5am or so, then I finally got to bed. Its now 11:15am, and I'm a zombie!

Not exciting by some people's standards but I enjoyed it. We went to an indoor soccer game that has become a tradition and then out to dinner. When we got home we played Mad Gab and Scattergories which was pretty fun. Let me just say I rock at Mad Gab. Then we just watched some of the NYE shows. I was in bed shortly after midnight.

My brother & SIL were here for 3 days w/ their son. We took my mom to the movie "Whatever happened to the Morgans" and brought pizza home by 5:30 for the kids. Had pizza and goodies and stayed up until 1 (the adults) talking & watching the ball drop. The 4 kids had a blast playing until their bedtime. Nice, cozy New Years.

DW and I dropped by a co-worker's open house for an hour or so, came home to make dinner but neither of us were hungry. We watched tv, saw a bit of blue moon, went to bed shortly after midnight. Hadn't stayed up on New Year's ever for several years. Seems overrated to me.
