My daughter has the last week of March off for her Spring Break. I was hoping to jump on the phone this week and make a reservation at any DVC resort for Sunday night through Thursday. I notice that this is a higher season in the DVC planning guide. What is your experience with this? Is this a terribly crowded time? Is it comparable to summer or Christmas? We don't plan on spending every moment in the parks, we like to just laze around the resorts also...and of course that other favorite Disney pasttime...eat! So what do you think? What has been your experience at this time? Thanks for your help!

With Easter on April 8th, holiday vacationers shouldn't overlap your week. I think the last week of March 2007 would not be over crowded at all.

We were there last March- not bad, some crowds. We followed Tour Guide Mike's tour plans and it was fine. We're going again this March!

we've been there twice in the past during march....both times were very crowded. even though easter is a week after your stay, i would still expect some spring break-like crowds.

weather is another interesting thing in march. the first time we went then, orlando had a record-breaking heat wave and it was in the 90's nearly every day. the second time was the opposite...50's-60's most of the week and we had to wear jeans and jackets.

regardless of crowds...regardless of weather...it's WDW! hope you have fun!

The midwest gets the last week in March off for spring break. I have been going that week for 15 years, and it's OK when Easter is the end of April, but this year it's the beginning of April, which should be very crowded. It won't be as bad as Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. but it is certainly more crowded than summer usually is. Go to the parks early, and return to the resort in the PM to swim or nap.

Thank you so much for all your help!! That was great information. I am so glad to hear your experiences because I have not done it years at that time...it's totally different now as a DVC experience and with kids. That's also the great thing about DVC, is that there are other things to do, and you can leave and come back!

Thank you!

 one other question: do you think it will make a difference not being there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? So Spring Break crowds are not as bad as Christmas?

Not nearly as crowded as Christmas. We were there last year until the Saturday that precedes the week before Easter. I made a last minute stop at MGM to buy something on the day we left. Couldn't believe the difference in crowds from earlier in the week. We will be there Mar. 18 - 30 this year and I don't anticipate horrible crowds, though it won't be empty in the parks either. Have fun!

When split week of Feb/March last year, very manageable going again this year.

DH and I were there March 12-17 in '05. We had very manageable crowds on Sat the 12th and Sunday the 13th. Then, they really picked up for the rest of our stay! You might be ok with being there so early in March.

Crowds were heavy, but it's WDW; we were prepared for it. We're going again this March but our school district (I'm a teacher) has put off Spring Break by a week and we'll be there at a peak time! Crowds will be heavy, I'm sure. But we're traveling with DS 1 yr 4 mos (he was a souvenir from '05) so we plan on breaking in the busiest and hottest times of the day!

Easter in '08 is extremely early and right in the middle of our Spring Break so this will be the last March trip for us for awhile! We're going in June '08!

Probably WAY more information than what you wanted but oh well.....

We'll be there from 3/24 through 4/4 :scared1: . I expect the crowd levels to get worse and worse as the vacation progresses!!! I've been there before in the heat of summer and had a great time and I've been there in May and at the end of September with no crowds and had a great time (really - whenever I'm in Disney it's impossible not to have a great time :goodvibes ). It's all in the attitude - you're on vacation!!!!!!!
