How was Top of the World Lounge NYE?

I'm so curious to know how busy it was last night since the crowds have been so minimal! I hope it was a good night for the Bartenders! Was anyone there?

I was going up last night to watch epcot and wishes but everyone was dressed up and a nice crowd was already there. We just watched wishes from our room. Later I went down stairs to get some wine from my car and about 40 people were waiting to go up.


By the way, NYE fireworks were crazy last night!!!!!! I am going to do this again next year!!!! I am glad I didn't go to Vegas for NYE.

Did they have any special events going on, either at the Top of the World Lounge or at the Contemporary? I would love to know!

We went up last night. The lounge was full as well as the outside deck, it was comfortable and not overly crowded. The bartenders and staff didn't know what to expect. They also had a bar set up outside. There was no charge to go up and they gave us party hats. There was a singer set up outside with a keyboard. It was a fun place to be and the fireworks were incredible.

Incredible is right!!!! I thought they were over until Mickey started the count down............... Then all hell broke loose.


I have stayed here 3 times now and man this MK view is great!!!

We were there NYE...the lounge was the busiest I have ever seen it... I hope everyone there spent $$$ to support the lounge, we certainly did!

Dec 31 was a cash night for us, so no access to the lounge.

But, I watched the fireworks from the BLT bridge, since it was also a Bay View room night. GREAT view, and the bridge was not that crowded, even on DEc 31st.

I have NEVER been to WDW for New Years Eve before, but the MK fireworks are just unbelievable. Where the heck do they shoot them all off from, some seemed to be from in front of the main Contemporary building?

I wish I had watched on DEc 30th as well, but I was too tired, I was in bed....

Twice we have been at the CR for NYE! Best seating is out on the front lawn! Near the convention center, beautiful view around the lake, and the fireworks are amazing!

We watched the Dec. 30th MK NYE fireworks from the balcony of our Contemporary Atrium Club 12th floor MK View room. It was even better than I had hoped for. They shot fireworks simultaneously from the island in the center of Seven Seas Lagoon and from behind the castle. It was fireworks in stereo! LOL! The ones shot from the island felt close enough to touch from where we were. We moved to BLT on NYE and went up to the lounge around 6-7pm. They were just getting things started. It wasn't very crowded at that time. I'll post the special NYE TOTW lounge menu later. (we just got home yesterday - still unpacking) We had other plans for NYE, so we didn't stay in the lounge. Oh, and our BLT villa was up on the 16th floor this time. LOVED IT!!!
