Wondering how those who spent Christmas at Aulani felt about their stay. I'm especially wondering if the resort is really crowded during Christmas (like the Disney parks). Would you do it again?

Just returned from spending Christmas at Aulani. The resort wasn't crowded at all...loved the festive atmosphere. Planning to spend next Christmas there again.

Curious as to where you went for Christmas dinner - in room, onsite or offsite?

Spent Christmas Eve at Aulani and did the Aunties Breakfast Buffet on Christmas day. The resort did not feel as crowded as it did in July when I spent a night there. There was a lot of really good decorating for the resort and rather than santa Mickey, Mickey was in his aloha holiday finest. I really liked this because I have seen Santa Mickey more times that I can count. The breakfast buffet was really good because they had the Hawaiian Christmas songs and activities for keiki(kids). Christmas Eve we got appetizers at Off the Hook and were more than filled. Overall a great way to spend the holiday.

Now as for your questions about the weather, this is winter in Hawaii which means Monsoon season. Christmas Eve cleared up ok, Christmas Day was typical for Hawaii. Rainy, overcast, kinda cool. Now I can say that next year will more than likely be the same because I have lived in Hawaii for four years and this is the time of year I loose my tan. Because the sun can and does hide super well.

We just completed a christmas stay and loved it. Christmas was the only day we didnt have beautiful weather, so we just jumped in the car and tooled around. Hpme got lots of snow, so maybe we were just so grateful for warmth. Loved it, and will return.

Thanks for all the tips - any good off-site restaurants open for Christmas?

We spent 10 outstanding days at Aulani during Christmas. We had the breakfast buffet on Christmas morning and ate so much I didn't eat again until the evening. They did have a Christmas brunch that day. Weather was middle 70's most days and a little windy, but if the sun was out it felt good. DVC has an absolute gem in Aulani, I am ready to go back.
