How warm are the pools at Bonnet Creek?

Anyone been there? Just obtaining information for future add on considerations-nice to have the facts and amenities for a fair comparison when laying out that much cash. :stir:

Except it isn't a "fair comparison" at all. Bonnet Creek may have a good location, but it is still an "off-site" resort. If there were no perks at all for stayig "onsite" then it may be a fair comparision.

Also remember we don't have "the facts" on the Disney pools yet. :smokin:

Agreed: Let's see now...Bonnet Creek:

A. No Disney Transportation
B. No EE privilege
C. No discounts at WDW such as
  1. WDW Restaurants (Too numerous to list)
  2. WDW tours (Such as "Behind the Magic", or the Epcot Segway tour, etc)
  3. Rentals of watercraft, etc
  4. Discounts admission at other WDW attractions (EG the Water Parks, Minature Golf, etc)
  5. DD selected locations such as Ghiradelli's,
  6. And so on....
D. No free parking at parks
E. No pool hopping
F. No $100/$125 off purchase of Annual/PAP passes
G. Only 1 WDW resort location to choose from. (Vs. DVC's 5 locations)

We went through the sales pitch for BC in the prior to construction phase just to see what. I was not impressed at all.

Interesting. I would also like to go through the spiel to see what all the hoopla is about.
By the way, did they try to give the impression that the resort was on Disney property?

Thanx! :smokin:

Could someone explain what Bonnet Creek is? I saw it for the first time in Feb. when I was in a van with my son on the way to urgent care. The driver said it was very expensive, and I said I didn't remember ever seeing mention of it in the WDW guidebooks.

Just wondering....

edit: actually, I didn't see "it," I just saw the sign

It's a Fairfield timeshare resort. Although it gives the appearance of being on Disney property, it is not. :smokin:

Bonnet Creek sits real close to Caribbean Beach and Pop Century resorts. It's Fairfield owned. We had friends that stayed there (they have a sister that owns Fairfield points) and they said the rooms were the nicest they had ever stayed at for a Fairfield resort.

I wonder why they don't spruce up the entrance a little more, though? You ever notice how plain it looks? There's no trees or flowers decorating the entrance. It looks all concrete looking.

The Disney resorts/DVC and Marriott Vacation Club spruce up their entrance drives a little better I think than that entrance for Bonnet Creek. It looks more like a business park entrance.

Think anyone in DVD management reads these boards? I wonder if the title of this thread might bring some pressure down on whoever's in charge of the alleged pool temperature policy change.

I may have some insight about the Fairfield resort in a few weeks. My sister is a Fairfield member and we're going to stay there with her for two days (after 5 days at VWL!) I don't know if we'll make it into the pool or not though.

:thumbsup2 Cha Ching :thumbsup2

Seriously I am half kidding (not interested in purchasing BC) but for a fact I would exploit that if I was selling BC for a living. BC pool is pretty nice and I heard it is warm-but again its a wait and see if all this is even true. We would choose BC over OKW/SSR in the winter if its pools are warm and WDW are not. We can take a van as easy as a bus to the parks if it meant enjoyable swimming while at the resort. Thanks for getting the "pressure" point rinkwide.

So, let me see if I have your point.

DVC: We are following the Red Cross Guidelines of 78 to 80 degrees to protect our guests.

BC: We have our pool warmer for your comfort, but we could care less about your health. Yep, good selling point.

You have it. But how are they going to keep it at 78 this summer?

And yes, if a pool is 86 degrees and another is 78 degrees-I'm going in the 86 degree pool just like I have the last 15 years.

Exactly, they'll be lucky to keep it under 92. Sorry, but that Red Cross argument is a huge cop-out.

Yeah, since when have we ever let facts get in the way of one of our discussions?

Ice cubes. Didn't you see the small sign requesting that after you finish your drink to dump the ice cubes into the pool. (after rinsing them off first).

I took her post to mean that it is not necessary for one's opinion to be based on facts in order to post it on the DIS. (See rinkwide's post, above). :)

Best wishes -
