How valuable are the hotel express passes in June?

Booking our vacation tonight and just wondering if the Universal hotel Express Passes are as valuable as the sales people on the phone say they are. Not only will every person in the three hotels have them, so will those people who buy them and stay elsewhere....
Thanks in advance!

Definitely valuable. However, don't purchase them in advance. Wait until you get to the parks to decide if you are fine with the wait times. You can buy them all over the place inside the parks.

What sales people are you talking about? Are you purchasing a package or something? We'd be glad to give you advice on what your plans are and see if we can come up with something more economical for you.

Yes they are valuable because they are limited. They don't just keep selling the express passes. There are a limited number available per day to the public.

When I asked the question recently, I was told the Express pass system is designed so that there isn't more than a 20 minute wait. It is usually less.

If everyone at US that had express passes decided to ride the mummy at the exact same time, that of course wouldn't hold true. But, it would never happen.

There are also 2 types of express passes....regular and unlimited. Staying at the onsite hotels, gives you the unlimited option.
The regular can only be used once per ride per day.

A PP suggested booking the hotel separately and then getting your tickets through undercover tourist. How does that work to then get the Express Unlimited pass - do they add that to the tickets you bought from undercover tourist when you arrive at the hotel? Or do you get a separate card to use as an express pass because you are a hotel guest no matter where you originally bought your tickets from?

Express passes are separate from tickets. They don't link things together like at Disney. You'll get a card with your photo on it at the hotel and that will be your express pass.

Even if you purchase a package, nothing is linked together. Your key, express pass and ticket are all separate. The hotels are not run by Universal but by Loews so things are done separately.
