How to wrap disney for Christmas

O.k so I am so excited.
We just went in May and now have an opportunity to go again (tag along on a business conv.)in Jan. 20-26th,
I have booked POR and our flights and even Le Cellier and Tony's and received our Pirates and Princess' tickets in the mail. Our KIDS have NO idea.
I don't know how to wrap this up.
I also plan on purchasing our park passes in advance so I can wrap those also. My parents are going to give the kids USD for christmas for spending money.
I was thinking of buying some pirate/andor princess costumes after halloween and making this part of their gift....maybe give the costumes and when they open them and can't figure it out then hand them an envelope with their park passes etc. I'm not decided yet though on if I should keep the Pirate/Princess a surprise for when we are there and just make the trip with passes the christmas gift.
Any Ideas???
Come on I know you have all done a surprise of some sort...Help me make this BIG.

I'm not sure how old your kids are, but my sister sent hers on a hunt. The first gift was a hint along with where to look next, then the next gift was another hint and so on until they got to the end and they each received a book for kids about Disney. SO you could do something like that. Good luck!

my idea would be to get one really big box wrap it and have another one inside only a litlle smaller and keep doing it until it gets to a tiny little box and then maybe have like an envelope inside and have it be a card from mickey or whoever their favorite character is saying they cant wait to see them when they come to visit. thats just an idea...hope you like it...

I would make a treasure map with clues...I'd put the treasure map in something they can open....make the treasure map look old, like burn the edges and/or weather the paper a bit...and when they finally get to the treasure, have the tickets there or something I know my DS is all about treasure hunting and maps so anything that he can follow like that is so fun for him and to have a great surprise at the end would be even sweeter!

My aunt and uncle surprised their girls one Christmas with a cruise and had wrapped a suitcase packed with their shorts and tee shirts for each of them. Inside they had also wrapped new bathing suits, flip flops and a brochure for the cruise line. The girls were so excited and it was fun for them to have a few things to open on Christmas Day.

I had a co-worker once that hung their lanyards containing the park tickets on the Christmas tree Christmas morning. It took the kids a while to realize the lanyards were there. Meanwhile, they opened gifts of t-shirts and shorts, other summer stuff that didn't make a whole lot of sense to the kids since it was winter.

Eventually the kids realized what was going on and were crazy excited.

I am so glad this topic came up, my 12 yr old ds mentioned to me last week how much he would love to parasail, wakeboard, jetski, etc. while on vacation in disney. I thought about printing out a gift certificate for him showing this would be a gift from us. My mother thinks that is a terrible idea for 12 yr old, she thinks they want something that they can hold in their hands on Christmas morning. My husband doesn't have a strong opinion either way. So my point is I am glad to hear some experiences where the
kids were so excited to get this type of gift. Any other opinions would be
greatly appreciated.

I am surpirsing my son this christmas too. I am making a video for him. I wanted to find out if disney does anything like this. I know they do phone calls but i wanted a video of Mickey saying your going to disney. I think it will end up being a powerpoint video on DVD. I did one for my grandmother for her birthday and it cam out graet, with sound and everything. Good luck on yours.

last year my mom told me that we were going to washington, to visit my dad on his busness tip-she told me that she had some new disney clothes for me, dress, pajamas that sort of thing-then she also told me that the weather in washington was warm and i trusted her so i let her pack my suit case-

the next day when it was my winter concert @ school, i saw my dad in the adience, after the concert my parents said congrats!!!!!!!! your gift for doing so well is that were going to disney
then when we arrived my mom and dad-made giftbaskets so they were sitting right there in the room because they had mailed them over

A few yrs ago I ordered them Mickey ears (from a number I got at Disney Store)and got disney dollars. They figured it out when they opened the ears.

I'm using lots of ideas but the final piece will be a tshirt I had made up from Disney store that says "We are going to Walt Disney World in May 2007". Straight and to the point. The tshirt has all the disney characters in vacation garb on the front.

I was also thinking about the treasure hunt and the descending box sizes but haven't decided actually which to do. I can't wait to see their expressions!!!

We bought blank white puzzles and wrote on the puzzle, "Pack your bags! We're going to disney World!" Then we taped pieces on to different gifts they got. They had to get all the pieces and then put the puzzle together.

Very creative idea! My kids love puzzles...what fun!!!

I love the puzzle idea also...where did you get the blank puzzles?
That could be fun..maybe I will do 2 puzzles and tell them to put them together side by side to understand the gift....hmmmm ideas.

Well, whatever you decide...use the black paint chip sample as gift tags. I write on mine with silver sharpie.

I can't figure out what to do either. DS knows we are going to disney, but he doesn't know when. We are going in January. I have all kinds of disney stuff for him. I have a dash luggage set w/backpack, disney shirts and sweatshirts, a stuffed mickey and pluto, lots of coloring/activity books, pens, crayons, I ordered the new planning DVD, a disney gift card.

I can't decide whether to put everything into the luggage. i was thinking I could put the pens and activity books in the backpack for his bag to bring in the car on the way and all the clothes, etc in the suitcase and the other stuff in the duffel bag?

Or should I do a scavenger hunt? Each clue will give him a gift and another clue? I can't figure out a clever way to put it all together.

im taking my daughter for her first time in feb and she has no idea age 9 i too was thinking of wrapping disney outfit in big box with ribbon and somehow its an unexpected delivery from santa just before lunch with a specail letter inside from santa which says" abby yove been such a special girl this year helping ur mom with baby brother that im going to invite you and your mom and dad to spend a week at my hoilday home in WDW.

Hey, we are going in May 2007 as well... we are also giving this to the kido's for Christmas! Not quite sure what we are going to do for that yet, but am reading on for all the great ideas!!
