This is our first trip to wdw. We have a dinner adr for Chef Mickey's and we're staying at POR. I'd like to catch the monorail to the Contemporary so we can experience it going through the hotel & dropping us off. (silly I know but exciting too) How would we do this? Would catching a bus to the ticket center be the easiest way? Or catch a bus to Magic Kingdom & then take the monorail? Does that seem like a lot of work just to catch a train?:confused3 Thanks!

What you said last is the best way that I know of. Take a bus from POR to MK, then either walk over to CR and eat then board monorail there and ride it around the resort loop, or bus to MK, get on monorail ride it around the loop and get off at CR to eat. Basically amounts to the same thing. We always take a ride on the monorail every trip, part of our tradition.

This is the most direct route to get from POR to the CR period. There are no resort buses to the TTC, so that's not an option.

If you want to do a lot of monorail riding to get there (and take an extra 30 minutes or so), you could take the bus from POR to Epcot, ride the monorail to the TTC, switch at the TTC to the resort monorail and ride to the CR. That seems like a bit much to me, FWIW.

I agree with taking a bus to MK, then hopping onto the Monorail. Have a great time.

The easiest option is taking the bus to the Magic Kingdom and walking to the Resort Monorail station. Now there is nothing wrong with taking the Resort Monorail however it would actually be faster walking to the Contemporary. Once you get off the bus you are already halfway there, so by the time you walk to the Resort Monorail you could have already arrived at the Contemporary by using the walkway.
