How to use Giftcards for tickets

I already posted this on someone else's question but thought I would put it out there for everyone. How do you get around only using one giftcard when ordering tickets online through Disney or AAA. Id like to take advantage the 5% savings at Target to save money but it seems that there is a road block in buying the tickets. Please help!
Hoping to convience my hubby to stop in Disneyland on the way to San Diego. Saving money would go in my favor

Don't count on a discount at Target using Target card. We've asked at about 20 Targets (Chicagoland and now near Anaheim) and none offer discount even with target card. $50 costs $50.

I bought $300 in Disney giftcards yesterday at a Target in Northern California and got not only my Red Card 5% off but another 5% from my Pharmacy Rewards certificate.

Many people on this board have done the Target 'discount' and I've never heard of anyone not being successful so I'm curious why you're having issues. I've even read people on the DCL board who bought thousands of dollars in Disney cards with their Red Card. Are you actually going through with the purchase or asking about it first? Most employees are not aware that the discount does apply to the non-Target giftcards and will say that it doesn't (it doesn't apply to Target giftcards).

OP- I don't think its possible to do what you're trying to do. You would have to crunch the numbers but your best bet is probably to buy one AAA ticket for the parking and the buy the rest of your tickets at the gate where you can use as many giftcards as you want. I think you suggested this option yourself in the other thread too.

Wow - we have actually tried purchasing, just now at lake elsinore target, was .$50. And purchased 4, $50 in chicagoland with my target red card, all $50!!! Strange ... Not the end of the world, but not sure why we've had ZERO success!!

And you're using the Target Red Card (credit or debit)? I've purchased one a payday for two months now and have been discounted the 5% each time.

Yes good point. Like all items, the red card discount doesn't 'show' when the cards are scanned, but is deducted at the end of the transaction.

It does sounds like Lowes may have gc for larger than 50 dollar amounts. I can get one large one there, and use it for AAA to get the free parking. Then go to Target to get the rest with the discount.

Then, try to get them at the Disney store or buy them there. We wont be down there until between 12-1. Does anyone know if the lines are long to buy the tickets there?

OP, not sure how many people you are buying tickets from, but if there is not way around only using one card can you try buying each ticket as a separate transaction on the Disneyland website and using a different card for each transaction?

If you purchase direct from Disney, the largest is $1000 at gift card loading, then up to a total value of $1500 as a reload. Minimum purchase is $5. If ORDERING from DisneyStore.com, minimum is $25 & max is $500, I believe. They are re-loadable as well.

The pre loaded cards, I've seen in $25 & $50, although I'm sure they exist in $100 somewhere.

You know you can get Disney gift cards in any value at Disney Store, right? I know it won't save anything, but if you are looking to have less cards, or at least one with a higher value, that is an option.

I believe someone else posted in another thread that you cannot use giftcards to buy giftcards at the Disney store but I'm not 100% sure.

Lowes is a 'big box' home improvement store similar to Home Depot, Menards etc.

Are you going to be able to go to DLR before the rumored price increase (last year it happened on May 20th so look for it to possibly occur on May 19th this year)?

If so, get the gift cards at 5% off at Target then drive to DLR and buy the tickets at the park, using as many gift cards as you want.

No, you cannot buy gift cards with gift cards. Also cannot buy Disney Dollars with gift cards. Card values cannot be combined.

However, for those that have Disney Visa Rewards, you can use your rewards to purchase gift cards.

The past two years it worked on non-Target gift cards, including Disney Gift Cards. The Red Card also gave 5% off. So for $48 you got a $50 Disney Gift Card and a $10 Target GiftCard. It was a fantastic deal. We're going at Christmas this year and we may wait until then to see if they offer the same deal so we can stock up on Gift Cards for our tickets and room. We're also keeping an eye on Way.com and how much the impending price inrease will be.

So, does anyone know if the tickets that can be purchased directly from the Disney Store or the Disneyland ticket booths are the same price as the tickets purchased in advance from the Disneyland website?

Also, if purchasing directly from the Disney Store or the Disneyland ticket booths can you get discounts offered by special programs (my health insurance company has a Life Balance program that offers a discounted price of $261 for 5 day price hoppers which are available via a link on that program's website that takes me directly to a discounted page on the Disneyland website).
