How to use Gift Cards at Resort

Can anyone tell me how to do this? Our package is paid in full already, but I wanted to use gift cards as payment for charging to our room. Can I put the gift cards down at check in, or do I have to go down at checkout?

As recently as 2 weeks ago GC's could not yet be applied to resort folio account balances. They are working on this and it's in the plan, but not live yet. An alternative is that you can pay for meals, merchandise and recreational items (like boat rentals) at the POS for each (point of sale).

I spoke to two different CMs at our resorts check-in counter (via phone) today b/c I wanted to know this too, both verified that you CAN use GC to pay for your room charges but.......

you have to come to the front desk the night before you check-out and pay for them. Once you pass midnight on your check-out day the charges are automatically charged to your room/credit card.

You will still have to give a CC at check-in to be able to charge to your room.

It seems like it would be less complicated to use the gift cards until they are used up, then start charging to your room.

I agree, but I don't want to carry all the gift cards around the parks with me.

I would double check before you plan on doing this....I called and asked....and when I got to the front desk, they told me I couldn't do it. and then they told me I could pay at the hoop de doo for our dinner tickets...we got there, and they wouldn't except the gift cards either. thankfully I tried this in the beginning of the week...because I then just took them to DTD with us.

Can anyone tell me if this is also correct for the Reward dollars? I was told a while back that I could just apply the Reward card at check-in, essentially creating a negative balance on my reservation. Has this changed? Thanks!
