Hi! Hope someone can help me out. I have an HP desktop computer. I have pictures saved on my computer. I want to put these pictures onto an SD memory card. Is there anyway to do this? Thanks!

Yes.. get a memory card reader, if you dont have one already, then you can just drag and drop the files onto the card.

What is a memory card reader? The only reason I need to do this is because I bought a Digital Photo Frame for someone & it doesn't have an internal memory, so I needed to buy a memory card. But now I don't know how to get the pictures onto the memory card.

If you do not have a memory card reader or a memory card slot in your computer then you can use a camera just as you would when you dl the images from your camera. Instead of pulling the images from the sd card in the camera drag and drop to the camera.

You can pick up a USB memory card reader for $5-$10. it basically just gives your computer a slot to plug the card in. They're a good thing to have anyway. Using one, rather than using your camera to download, will extend the battery life on your camera significantly.

Well, I can't use my cameras memory card because the frame is not for me. Plus, my cameras memory card is not supported by this picture frame. The only way to view pictures on this frame is to insert a memory card or a usb & leave it in. It has no internal memory. I dk, maybe I just don't know what I'm doing! LOL! Thanks!

You need to connect the memory card to your computer somehow. Many computers have a reader built into them now a days. If you do not have a SD Card slot on your computer already, you need to purchase a card reader which plugs into a USB slot. Once the card is attached to your computer (via the SD card slot or the card reader- it makes no difference) the memory card now looks like another hard drive.

Assuming you have a Windows base computer....

Find the pictures you want to put on the card. Highlight and copy them (to copy hold down the ctrl button and hit the "C" button or you can highlight them and click File-Copy.)

Open up your "My Computer" icon either on the Windows Desktop or click on Start than choose "Computer"

Your SD card should have it's own drive letter (usually E,F,G, or H.) Double click on it to open it.

Paste the pictures in there (Hold down the "CTRL" button and hit the letter "V" or click File then Paste.)

Remove the camera card and put it in the frame.

Plug the frame in and see if it works :thumbsup2

As what others have said,,,, you need a memory card reader. You can buy them online from any place that sells electronics, or go to Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target or any place like that. They are a small device that sells from $5-20 and plugs into the USB slot on your computer (most new computers now come with a memory card reader built in). The readers are a bit different. Make sure you get one that will fit the kind of card that fits into the Digital Frame. You will find 5 in 1, 8 in 1, 12 in one, etc... Just about all will read SD cards since that is the most popular these days. But there are other kind of cards (CF, Memory Stick, xD and others).

You then put the memory card into the memory card reader and plug the reader into your computers USB port (same place you'd plug in your camera and probably your printer (unless you have a old printer). This will let you use the memory card like a floppy disk or blank CD.

Open two explorer windows on your computer. In one window go to the file that your pictures are. In the other window open the blank memory card folder. You can then drag the files from your hard drive to the memory card.

Its actually a very simple process.
