So I read on a previous thread if I get to fop to early I we'll be escorted to the fp line I want to avoid that I want to see the que

no you will not be going thought the FP line if you do not have a FP for FOP. So no worries there.

Incorrect.

I was at rope drop for FOP on Sunday. The only inside part of the standby line we saw was the first 1/4 of the very first cave. There is a cutoff at that point into the FP+ line and we were directed there at that point. They want to get the theaters going at full capacity as quick as possible at the beginning of the day, so they have the rope droppers routed through the FP+ line to make that happen. Others who have done rope drop on other days recently have experienced the same thing.

Here's my report:

sorry but they do not let stand by guest in the FP line, they may not use all the line early in the morning but if they let you in the FP line then FP line would be longer and people ( I was able to get a FP for 9:05 and was in at 8:50 since the park opens a little early) would be waiting in the stand by line.

Again.... you are wrong. And I know you are wrong because I experienced it myself not 5 days ago. Their SOP for rope drop right now is to route standby guests through the FP line at a cutoff point in the first inside cave of the standby queue. Rope drop has been occurring around 8:40 these days for a 9:00 AM park open. I'm sure by 9:00 am they re-route the standby guests through the full standby queue since the lines to be assigned a theater are sufficiently full at that point. But for the first 15 to 20 minutes the ride is open standby guests are definitely being routed through the FP queue and do not get to see 95% of the queue line.

Very informative (and funny!) post. That's pretty good that you were able to arrive at 8:00 am and be finished so quickly.

well I am sure you are wrong so I guess we can agree to disagree.

I won't agree to disagree when you are 100% wrong. It is ok to admit it. Happens to the best of us. It is important for people to have accurate information, and you are not providing it in this case. Anyone hoping to see the floating avatar or the rest of the standby queue will not see it if they get there early for rope drop.

I was there at rope drop too and we were routed through a very short path to get to the ride and did not traverse the full queue path. I'm sure once the short path to the ride start is full, they cut off the short cut and lead the rest of the line through the full queue, but right at first, that doesn't happen. Having gotten through the short path, I cannot say at what point the short cut is closed and full path begins but I would imagine it was pretty quick.

Lol! You don't have to agree to disagree. Apparently, you two experienced different things is all.

tinkerbellandeeyor, why don't you get there like ucfknight did and if they try to redirect you at the cutoff point 1/4 of the first cave, tell the cast member you'd like to wait until they open the rest of the line because you want to walk through it?

You must be hallucinating your experience like I and many others who have reported this in the past week. Clearly the avatar mind link process has somehow inserted false memories into our brains.

Later in that main Avatar thread I suggested somebody try that if seeing the queue was a priority for them. There was no cast member posted at the cutoff point when I went through. They just had a rope up blocking the normal pathway of the standby queue and directing us into the FP+ line.

The only time I can see it is at RD I can not handle the stand by line and I have been able to get there right at RD and go thought the stand by line 3 times already so Yes I am right you can do it I did it, I did hear from a CM that works the line that last week someone thought up in the line and they did for about. 5 minutes re route the line to the FP and they were giving people with FP at the time an any time FP, I wonder if you were there when this happened ( not sure what day, he was just telling me there was a lot of guest angry that the FP line was so long)

any ways I put what I know to be true and you put in what you think is true it is ok for you to admit you do not know every thing too you can not be there every day at RD and know if they were not testing something one day just like I do not know but I do know I have done stand by first thing and was in and out of the ride in less then 30 minutes ( walked the line never stoped until after standby FP cam together) saw the room with the floating avatar ( went around people taking pictures or video ) so yes Ido know what I am talking about.

there are a few threads on the DIS where a number of guest experience different things including one person experience 3 differen things on one ride. one thing about Disney is they are really not constancy on how they do things but it does not make some one wrong, it just meant they had something different happen to them.

with this said I am done with this thread. do not need the name calling and do not want to get in to name calling any more then I have.

So avatar is open late correct? So I we'll go at rope drop so I can experience both attractions and keep a eye on wait times and when it's 60 min or less I well go through the que so I can see it

ETA I am assuming there is a chicken exit if I just want to see the que with out riding
