So I just came back from an abd trip to Disneyland, which was amazing but that's another story.
We were on our own Sunday, December 20 and had an amazing day so I thought I'd share our strategy, maybe it can help one of you.
We arrived at 7:20 am. There were early morning hours at 7, which we didn't have access to. We lined up with everyone else and were let in around 7:35 ish. We were allowed to wonder main street for pictures but were held by ropes from getting into the other lands. This is a good time for main street pictures.
At 8 the ropes were dropped. I started to head to our first ride while my boyfriend, the faster of us, went for hyperspace Mt FP. It was easier just to send one person, then you don't need to worry about staying together in the mob.
He got fps for roughly 840-940 and soon joined me at Alice, where we walked right on. We then walked into toad, snow white and Pinocchio. We could have walked onto dumbo but chose not to. The trick to this strategy is that we'd already rode Peter pan the other night by hopping in line 2 minutes before park close. Sure, we had to wait 25 minutes but the park was closed anyway. That way we didn't have to waste golden time in the mornings with peter pan.
Next we walked up to princess fairytale hall and saw 3 lovely princesses. There was only one person ahead of us in line.
After that we went to the nemo subs and only had to wait for one sub before it was our turn. It was around 915 at this point.
We got a FP for Indy, we were going to do jingle cruise but thought we might miss our space FP so instead we met the fairies with no wait, saw alice and the mad hatter so i asked if we could walk with them, we did and had a nice few minutes conversation then we finally used our space FP.
Next up we headed for potc, we saw aurora at the wishing well and waited 5 minutes to see her.
We had a ten minute wait for potc, the crowds were starting to catch up to us. It was time for a new FP so we got one for hm.
I really wanted another ride on jingle cruise so we had our first bad wait of the day, about 20-25 minutes. We then used our FP for Indy.
We walked onto pooh with no wait, splash also had a short wait but we skipped it since it was still chilly. Grabbed some churros with no wait.
Used our hm FP, then grabbed a big thunder FP.
Crowds were starting to get really bad so we waited ten minutes and got mint juleps and candy cane beignets then hopped on the train.
Rode all the way around then got off at Tomorrowland (goodbye original train path). Walked up to spiderman 10 minutes before his set and were the 4th group.
Parks really crowded at this point, used our thunder FP then waited for the sailing ship Columbia.
That was our last ride as we were off to the airport at 3 pm.
So that was our very successful day on a high level crowd day. If we had stayed all day, we would have continued getting fps and spent the afternoon doing things like great moments with Mr Lincoln.
I hope this can help someone!
