We're looking to book a deluxe oceanview w/verandah on deck 6 or 7 (category 5) of the dream. I know my kids would love one of the drop down beds with the peter pan theme on the ceiling. Is there any way to figure out which rooms have them & which don't?

TIA!

I believe they all have the pull out of ceiling bunk. The difficult one is figuring which have the Murphy bed(fold down out of wall).

Sorry, not correct. I know for a fact that 9560 doesn't have the pull-down ceiling bed thing. I would have liked to have known this too before cruising last June but there was no info I could find to help. I've yet to see anything that helps with this.

ETA: Stateroom 9560 is a Cat 5A.

Not so. We had 9506 & 9508 (cat. 8B), and they both had murphy beds and neither one had the pull-down bunk. We had 4 people booked in each room.

ETA: Sorry, I thought the OP was referring to the cat. 4 family rooms, which are the same as the cat. 8's. You are probably right about the cat. 5's!

OK, my bad.

Although I was attempting to post in reference to CAT 5's

You must call or read a trip report to verify. Even the CAT 4a say maybe to ceiling bunk and also maybe to Murphy. I find it ridiculous DCL cant display this info some how, like with *,+, etc on a set of deck plans. How frustrating. I would want a cabin with both, even with 2 kids, so we have flexibility in our sleeping arrangements.

Sorry, I'm still learning.

No worries--we're all trying to give the best info we can.

I agree DCL could make this info easier to get, but I'll be darned if I've seen how. And by the way, I wouldn't believe anyone you call at DCL. Disney phone CMs are notorious for dodgy info.

I recall a while ago someone started a list of which rooms had which extra bed. I should have booked marked it. I couldn't find it. I haven't seen that list since that unknown month.

I would like to know also. Our room category says it may have one or the other (not that I really understand the difference) but I don't even know if it will def have one or the other. So confusing!:confused3

If you call DCL they can tell you how many your stateroom can sleep. The rule of thumb (but not always) is the following:

sleeps three = Queen bed plus single sleeper sofa

sleeps four = the above plus pull down berth (looks like bunk bed over sofa)

sleeps five = the above plus single murphy bed

Hope that helps

Just booked our Fantasy cruise looking for the kids bunk, having been on the Dream in May stateroom 9656, which did not have the bunk. Working with DCL, they informed me that only rooms with a 5 person capacity instead of 4(which doesn't change the category per se) that offer the kids bunk. So, check with DCL and check out the stateroom reports by ship on this site...many of the comments listed in the stateroom reports will include what the sleeping arrangements are.
