We are leaving next month for Disney and our kids have no idea - 6 and 8.

Anyone have neat ideas for the reveal? We are planning to do it the morning we leave. The day we leave, they are supposed to go to school, but we'll be leaving for the airport instead.

I think a banner somewhere in the house that the kids see when they first get up would be so cute. Like saying something like "Let's go meet Mickey" or "This way to Disney World" with an arrow. You could go to the Disney store and buy them a little trinket and have it wrapped up on there bed when they wake up.

My boys are 11 and 14 and they know we are taking a cruise in December but they don't know that we are taking them to Disney first. So my husband and I are going to play a trick on them and tell them we wanted them to get a souvenir from Disney since we are so close. When we pull into BWV we're going to tell them we decided to stay for the week before our cruise. I'm going to video tape their reaction. I know they will be so surprised.

I hope your surprise turns our fun!!

I've got a Disney reveal coming up soon for a 4 and 9 year old, so I've been watching some reveal videos. Some people go crazy with 20 minute long scavenger hunts or Disney Store reveals. I think I'll keep it simple...a Mickey tee or two for each wrapped separately, followed by a shared gift that they open together. In there might be park maps maps, a Disney for Kids guide book, Magicbands, etc. I think they'll figure it out pretty quickly.
Good luck and have fun with whatever you decide on! :yay:

We surprised our kids when we picked them up from school. The link is in my signature to the youtube video. It turned out better than I could have imagined!

Our first big WDW trip we did a scavenger hunt through the house that ended with a letter from Mickey inviting us to spend a week with him and Cinderella at Disney World. That was years ago when our teens were little.

Tomorrow we are surprising our kids again with a trip to WDW. Hubby is bringing home a wrapped package with matching WDW t-shirts for the whole family and another letter from Mickey. Our little kids (now 5 and 7) were both babies on our last trip and neither remember going. They have been asking for the last year to go, so this will be a great surprise!!

You can say an invitation arrived for them and hand them an invite from Mickey to go to WDW today. You can make Mickey Mouse pancakes with some mickey mouse confetti under the plate. You can put a sign on the car of "WDW or Bust".
