Need help coming up with a cute way to reveal to my daughter that we are going to Disney next month. She is 7. We are also taking her 11 year old brother (he lives with his grandparents; we adopted her two years ago).

I would like to tell both of them at the same time. If we can't be together we will facetime him and then tell them.

I was trying to think of a small gift to give them and have them figure it out, like some mickey ears or something.

In sure someone here has a much better idea!

We wrapped a gift for our kids, and put Disney shirts and park maps in it, along with a letter about our planned trip with the dates, where we will be staying, etc.
You could do two of the same box for the kids to open and have them FaceTime and open at the same time.

I helped my friend this year in their surprise trip to WDW. I "invited" the family to join me in a road trip. On the day of the trip, the children thought they were going to pick up a rental at the airport and were surprised with a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth :cheer2:

I hope to surprise my son at Christmas with a late Feb/early March trip. We've talked about doing a scavenger hunt after the normal Christmas day festivities are over...have him hunt a few packages that will have tell tale signs of the large surprise than at the end have a huge box filled with balloons that say "we are going to Disney World".

Something along those lines anyway! LOL =)

I like this one if you can find a co-conspirator.

Our first trip with the kids was a road trip, so we told them we were going to visit family in Atlanta. We drove through the night, arriving at our resort about 7:00 the next morning with them still oblivious. We got out the video camera, and I [while trying not to cry] told the kids we were at Disney for the next 10 days. At which point my then 6 year old promptly burst into tears, sobbing "But I thought we were going to Aunt Julie's!". I couldn't help but laugh which just made him more upset... but he was happy when I told him we would see Aunt Julie on the way home. :rotfl2:
