Hi,
So my college age will be taking his own trip in September for the first time - I have his tickets and his friends tickets in my “My Disney Experience” account, and they are both under the “plans are managed by me”

How does he get access to this with his own account while there? Or is it best if he just logs into my account?

I’ve just never sent a kid on a trip without me… but I figure others have done this before and know what to do?

He’ll be staying at DVC, booked under his name on my DVC account - so I assume he does not get my DVC discounts because I’m not there?

Finally, can we lend a friend one of our magic bands and link or is it best if they buy their own?

Any help or suggestions welcome…

Thanks!

If he already has his own MDE account, go to your Family & Friends list and follow the prompts to invite him. There are two methods. One sends an email and the other uses a QR code which is quicker if he is with you at the time.

Once connected, his tickets and any MagicBands will transfer over to his account for him to control.

If he is not listed as an owner on the DVC contract(s), he is not entitled to any DVC discounts.

Once linked, MagicBands can't be reassigned to someone else.

Thank you! I’ll sit down with him tonight and get this done.

I guess one idea down the road is to put the kids as owners on contracts… just not used to them growing up yet.

Definitely do this WELL in advance. I have made an account for someone because they didn't want to deal with it - and when it was time for them to make their OWN account - they now had two accounts - and that was a pain to fix and she had to call for help. Maybe folks have had this all work smoothly on their own - but it didn't for us without contacting Disney for help.
