How to sell points expiring soon

Hey guys, couple of quick questions. We just bought our first DVC contract, and yesterday received the membership number. I have points expiring May 31st that were banked from 2015, and I'd love to be able to sell them, as DW and I won't be taking a trip until the fall.

1) Do I need to discount the points yet, or should there be enough demand in the next couple of weeks to sell them?
2) Is it in bad form to have both Dave's and DVC Rental trying to sell my points, or should I stick to a single broker?
3) Assuming #2 isn't an issue, should I start looking both privately *and* through Dave's and DVC Rental, or between the two resellers should they be picked up quickly?

1. You will almost certainly have to discount the points. You're not quite to breakage (reservations inside 60 days), but you're close. If you look at availability, it is not great.

2. I'm not sure their contracts allow it. Read carefully.

3. I recommend using one of the brokers. Posting last-minute points on Rent/Trade may make you hate humans. "Can you check a week at VGF at Easter???" even if you say "will check Saratoga, AKV and OKW ONLY."

Not sure how many points you have to rent but make sure to check if they have a minimum number needed to rent with Dave's or DVC Rental.

We bought, had points expiring before we planned to go so I rented them on the rent/trade board. You probably will need to discount to try and get someone booked quickly before inventory completely fills up. The other poster is correct, you get a lot of requests to check dates and I will add most people never respond even if you have exactly what they wanted. You should also use a contract and avoid payments through Paypal as it is a violation of Paypal's policy. Renting through a broker will be easier on you.

If you privately rent your points, you can probably get $12.00 a point and have a lot of interest, see what the brokers will offer you, then decide!

Your biggest issue may be availability. I was trying to book a week in early June, and no studios or one bedroom were available anywhere for my entire stay, except for a studio at SSR...not that I hate SSR, but I own at OKW and love it, but it would be a similar experience...I was looking for something different.
