Warning : there will be a (partial, and not the best part) picture of me in this installment. Not for the faint of heart. You've been warned & therefore can not sue me for emotional distress. Okay???
The good thing about yesterday's fiasco is that we woke up early on our last full day in WDW. We had planned to go to an early breakfast at Crystal Palace then spend the morning in MK. But we didn't really want to do that.
We both wanted to go to our least favorite park and ride the attraction we had been too scared to even
look at for close to 2 years.
Off to the 13th floor we went !!
On our way to the bus stop I called Dining, canceled our date with Pooh & Eeyore and booked us Cape May instead. Latest sitting available, 10.50am.
That'd give us time to get dropped a few times and then ride the boat to the Beach Club.
For some reason I have no photo at all of HS that morning. I do remember that the park was packed - we got there before opening and they had stopped the lines for bag checking because there wasn't enough space to hold everyone on the other side! So much for morning EMH being more crowded...
They did let us in at some point, and while most of the guests were headed to Toy Story Mania, Grumpy & I didn't even look that way. We had some dropping to do. Grumpy did request a pee stop on the way "just in case". I guess she was truly afraid of peeing her pants on the ride
I still regret not taking the time to snap a pic of the "13MNS" wait time that was shown when we reached ToT.
We were a bit nervous but a lot less than the first time. However when we made it in front of the elevator and I looked at the seating chart in front of us, I realized we were in the FRONT ROW !

Sooooooooooooooooooo not happening.
In the row that was to be behind us were a man and his son...
"Excuse me sir would you mind switching with us ? We're new at this and we're too chicken for front row!!"
The kid was so happy he screamed "yyyyyyyyaaaaaa !!! DADDY,FRONT ROW!"
Admittedly the son seemed a whole lot happier than the dad but they did switch with us.
Grumpy & I sat in the second row and held each other's hands. This ride was a LOT tougher than our first, we got dropped at least 6 or 7 times and it seemed from higher than before too. We were screaming like banshees and the guy who switched with us kept turning around to laugh at us.
It didn't help when at some point Grumpy noticed that we could see daylight in the elevator.
"OH NOOOOOO!!! HE FORGOT TO LOCK THE DOORS!!!"
She got quite a few giggles from that. I was laughing so hard - both from her outburst and from the ride -that I couldn't even scream anymore.
When we got out Grumpy said she was truly shocked. She hadn't noticed that the doors opened on our first ride.
"How could you not see that??"
"Well, I would have had to have my eyes open wouldn't I ???"
We spent some time the gift shop. I wanted to ride again but Grumpy said she was done. Besides it had taken us longer than we had expected and we had to leave to make it to the Beach Club if we wanted to be on time.
Of course, as soon as we left the ToT area, we could hear our HS nightmare. High School Musical was out again.
We covered our ears and walked fast to the boat dock. Luckily for us a boat was just arriving and we made it to Cape May right on time.
I forgot to say that by then, my "I want cookiiiiiiiiiiiiies give me cookiiiiiiiiiies" song had gotten way over Grumpy's nerves and I had been warned that saying the word "cookie" once more in 2008 would result in her going Diane Downs on me.
Therefore, I had switched to "puppies".
A thing I love at Cape May is that they have paper tablecloths and Crayola crayons on all the tables. Our server forgot us and by the time she brought our drinks there was little blank space left on our tablecloth.
This is why Crayola are not allowed in my house...
By the way, our server was Linda, an older lady who was just ADORABLE ! She chit chatted with us a bit but it was the end of the meal and she was pretty busy cleaning and setting up for dinner.
We were very lucky with the characters, there were maybe 6 or 7 tables left by then so they took their time. Goofy arrived behind Grumpy and rested his nose on her head, which as you can imagine scared her half to death.
Thankfully we had gotten over our sugar repulsion of the day before and enjoyed the buffet. I had to get asparagus - how often do you see them on a breakfast buffet ? But was truly more interested in the danishes.
Dale joined us then and since I love the chipmunks, I asked Grumpy to please take my picture with him. She said it worked fine, but knowing Grumpy's talent with a camera, I checked. Good thing, because this is the pic my mom took:
"Okay let me go over the whole photo thing..."
We figured they'd come back so we waited for another opportunity. Goofy came back and danced with Grumpy!
Minnie came back and Linda offered to take our photo with her
Then Chip-or-Dale was back. We explained to him how Grumpy had taken a face-less picture and we'd love to try & get another one if he had time. He nodded and gave us the thumbs up.
First try - I give Grumpy the camera, loaded, ready to shoot. Chip-or-Dale and I pose... Grumpy lifts the camera and turns it OFF.
"It didn't work !!!!"
Second try- The camera is back on. Grumpy is holding it right. Chip-or-Dale and I pose. Grumpy proudly yells "did it!"
MMMM but nothing happened. No flash, no click, nada.
I say "no it didn't" and Chip-or-Dale is shaking his head "no", too.
We check and there's no new pic on the memory stick.
Third (and last) try - Grumpy grabs the camera again. I'm laughing with Chip and neither of us are looking at Grumpy when we hear
"I can't see anything."
Chip-or-Dale is the first to turn and look at Grumpy and he immediately crumples to the floor in hysterics. I soon understand why.
Grumpy Leibovitz is not only holding the camera upside down, she's also looking through the lens...
We're done. Dale is still on the floor, slapping his knees and laughing. Grumpy & I have tears running down our face, mostly because of Dale's reaction. Linda comes to see what the raucus is about and we try to explain as best as we can. I suspect she thinks we need to be locked up. It's tme to leave before they ban us forever.
Before we leave the Beach Club, we have a great surprise. Art !!!! I'd been wanting to meet him for a while but unfortunately the only time we've stayed at the Beach Club it was only for 2 days, and he didn't work those days. Oh he was such a sweet guy ! We chatted about how he was famous all over the internet and I took his pic with Grumpy.
She wants to get back to the Poly for a swim. I want to go to Downtown Disney. We have to switch buses anyway, don't we ? It will only take a few more minutes.
...give or take three hours.
