Traveling to Orlando, party of 6. 4 adults who all want to ride Mine Train, 2 kiddos who are not tall enough.

We aren't staying on property so looks like there is no way we will get FP for this.

What is our best strategy? Go to Mine Train at rope drop? Should all six of us wait in line, 2 ride and 2 others wait with kids, or should we do rider swap? I'm not sure what the platform is like as far as switching the kids goes.

Well, if the children are too short then they cannot enter the line at all. Someone would have to wait with them outside of the ride entirely. You may be able to leverage rider switch somehow, but I am not really an expert at using it.

Oh!!! I didn't even think about that. Okay. So we will have to use rider switch. I am going to try to get FP for at least two of us but I doubt that will happen.

How quickly does the line get long after rope drop?

We stay offsite and not had a problem getting FP for it in the past few trips. It is worth a shot! If it's a busier time of the year try searching for parties of 2.

We hit it a rope drop last year on marathon Sunday and walked right on. By the time we got off, the wait time was already 30-40 minutes. I can't remember for sure; it may have been an EMH morning.

The ride is the first thing everyone goes to. It will reach a 30-60 minute wait in the first 10-15 minutes the park is open. At least that has been my experience with the ride at rope drop.

I agree that getting 7DMT Fast Passes at 30 days out shouldn't be too difficult. Make sure you get on it as soon as your window opens, but there should still be some availability.

I'm definitely going to keep trying. I've just checked 30 days out from now a couple of times and nothing comes up. Not giving up though. ;)

Is there a single rider line?

No.

Yesterday afternoon it was 20 minutes, by night time went up to 60 minutes.

Personally I would get there at rope drop, have 1 adult stay with the two littles, have the rest go through the line getting child swap, then the adult can go on the ride taking taking whoever back on the ride with them.

Or keep trying for FP+ for 2 and get child swap. Then the other two ride with the swap.

You know you can put in for 1 FP+ and then try again for another 1 with overlapping times etc. FP+ for 7DMT is very easy to get for 1 person even the day of. We've done often.

I'll try all those suggestions. Thank you.

The kids have to be present to get the child swap pass right??

Yes, but then you can leave and ride something else. The carousel, tea cups are right there and lines will not be long. Even Pooh might be doable if you go at rope drop and they do standby route.

The other option for standby is to hop in line just before the park closes. The posted wait time will be inflated, but the actual wait will be much lower.

Rope drop and be right at the rope. Get there first thing. Not too familiar how the swap out works, but just completely suggest booking it there immediately.:flower1:
