We're going to the Polynesian for the first time in about 2 weeks. We want to make sure we have a room with a balcony. Does anyone know if it's better to call and request only the longhouses that have balconies on all floors (Rapa Nui, Tahiti) or can we request a third floor only room at certain longhouse? Do they usually honor those requests?

If a balcony is your main criteria, just word your request "Balcony Room". That tells the room assigner what's important to you. If you were to request a particular building they wouldn't know why and might just put you in a building nearby if there wasn't any other availability.

I agree with the pp to request a balcony room rather than a specific longhouse. Disney will do everything they can to accommodate your request, but keep in mind that there is no way to guarantee or make sure you get a balcony. With that said, your chances are pretty good if you make a balcony your request rather than requesting a specific building or 3rd floor room. Good luck.

When we stayed at the Poly two years ago we requested the Tahiti building when we made our reservations. We also called and talked to someone and again made the request for the Tahiti building. They honored our request The Poly is a great resort.
