How to post a custom avatar?

I'd like to use one of those vacation countdown tickers from distickers or myvacationcountdown into my profile but am having trouble getting it to work. Could anyone explain step by step how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Click on "User CP" at the top left of each page. Then you can click on "Edit Avatar" or Edit Signature" depending on what you want to customize. If you're looking for a countdown, go to the signature part and click on the banner that says "DIS Tickers".

After pasting the code into my signature, I'm still left with only the code and not the ticker. What next?

Create a profile on the vBulletin forum you wish to use if you do not already have one. Start the creation process by clicking on the "Register" button on the main page. Some communities allow users to start using the site immediately, while others may require an administrator to approve the account.

As a "technically challenged" Disboarder, I have been trying to post this photo

to my Avatar for the past 4 hours! I even watched the "posting" videos available. After I "paste" it shows "Invalid URL". Any suggestions?

I was also facing difficulties accessing this site, but by clearing out the cache and cookies of my browser, worked for me. Sometimes, you face difficulties accessing some sites or features of the sites because of cache and cookies. It is recommended to regularly clear out cache and cookies of your browser.
