Hiya guys

Never visited any other time of the year except for October and once early Feb, and I'm really baffled how to allocate my days for this coming August:confused3

I am a member of UG touring plans, but when the first 2 weeks of your trip all show MK as a 9 do you just pick a day that fits and be there for rope drop knowing you can leave early afternoon and return if you wish early evening?

Is this the same for all the parks!

I think if MK is showing as a 9 for several days in a row then you just need to pick a day and be prepared for it to be busy - as you say, get there early and be prepared to utilise FP and leave if the crowds get too much.

We will be getting there for opening and staying til mid afternoon, either have lunch then come out or come out for lunch somewhere else. We get done what we want in the mornings before it gets busy then go back to the resort for a swim, sleep, internet etc before going out for evening meal.

When we go in June/July Magic Kingdom is frequently a 9 and around 4th of July hits 10 according to touringplans.

We do as you suggest and hit the park for rope drop or as near to it as possible and never stay beyond 3pm.
We stayed longer on one day when it was EMH morning and meeting up with SIL/BIL, who did not do early park entry..... never again :scared1:

Yes the parks will be busy but with careful planning it is possible to have a great holiday even when the parks are busy.

My planning preferences are slightly different. Seeing as you are staying on-site, it may seem unusual. I avoid any parks with EMH, morning or evening, like crazy. Have always found them to be busier during the regular park hours. For instance, if MK had evening EMH and AK had morning, I would definitely be going to EPCOT or DHS. That's what I've discovered in my experiences.

This year, my family are on-site. So the EMH will only be used for park hopping. ie. Spend the day at a non-EMH park and then the evening (or early morning I suppose) at the park with EMH.

My tip is like Wayne's, get there early then leave for a break.

We'd often go to a park for their nighttime show or fireworks only, rather than be there from start to finish :)

:goodvibes

What we do at busy times like that is go to EMH park for before rope drop (sometimes you get in a few minutes early, if its really busy) then ride the must-dos, maximum use of fastpasses and out by lunchtime.

Usually then go back in the evening to catch a firework show and maybe dinner.

Its easy really - never been fazed by busy times and been for NYE and July 4th no problem:thumbsup2
