HI I just stumbled on your thread. I love the idea of an anniversary party! We are talking about renewing our vows down there next year but I love what you did even more!!
May I please ask where you found your information on all of this? I would love to do just a small party (us & the kids) & say our vows over again in one of the parks.

wow... just wow. Your pictures are amazing and you looked absolutely stunning.

I'd never thought of the ToT as that kind of event for anything other then scaring the pants off myself :rotfl:

so again I say wow.

What an amazing event. My family is going in December this year and I would love to have a surprise event for my parents like this. Their anniversary is in December. I love the Tower of Terror set up. Any other great places in Hollywood Studios that you can do this?

Thank you for sharing, Carrie! I always enjoy reading about your adventures & it's so great to know all of the possibilities for private events at WDW!! :goodvibes I love the "old Hollywood" look you guys had!

This is absolutely awesome. I need to find a list of locations at WDW that do events like this. Although ToT seems pretty great. Love your attire.

As a long time lurker on the boards, I finally had to post how fabulous your anniversary party was! (Your wedding, too!:thumbsup2) Thanks for sharing the photos! I never knew you could rent out spots in the parks like that. So glam!

I too, am wondering how you are going to top this for your next anniversary! :rotfl: I wonder how long animals are kept out at night at Kilimanjaro Safari...you know they do have that new "boma" in the Safari for meals used by the Wild Africa Trek... popcorn::

Hi there! I wrote a book on Disney weddings, so I've done a LOT of research into private events at WDW. I've written a tutorial on how to plan (non-wedding) private events there, including pricing, which you can check out here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/private-party/

You can get general info about Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings' vow renewals on their site—all the info that applies to weddings applies to vow renewals too. You might want to check out their new Memories Collection for the couple and up to 4 guests—quite economical! The cheapest way to do an in-park ceremony is the Escape Collection, which has Canada at Epcot as one of its venue choices.

The one thing I learned from my event-site tour of Hollywood Studios is that practically EVERY place can be an event space! If you have a favorite spot, ask your event planner about it. Some of the locations—like the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and Lights, Motors, Action—are really for large groups. But there's the tiny Bamboo Room at the Brown Derby, a small patio at Fantasmic!, an area at the back of the Theater of the Stars, the Hollywood Hideaway behind American Idol, and the Price Caspian exhibit, just to name a few of the small venues.

Hey, thanks! :goodvibes

I have a comprehensive list, including photos, here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/disney-weddings/wdw-venue-photos/

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom—nice to meet you! :wave2:

I just hope the toilets will be working—when we went on the trek a few weeks ago we were literally "roughing it" at the viewing station while the maintenance crews tried to figure out what was wrong! :scared:

Wow!!! You are absolutely amazing!!! How do you come up with all these unique things to do? Do you have any other suggestions for places in the Disney World parks where you can have a private event?

Looks like a great party and you got some fantastic photo ops too! Just curious - how was it The Roots were allowed to do the photography? I thought only DP was allowed to do the photos in-park...is that a "weddings only" rule? Are outside photographers allowed for these types of events?

Wonderful, helpful info on planning an event. I'm working on our 40th anniversary celebration and we want to do appetizers and drinks while watching Illuminations at Epcot. We're looking at around 30-35 people, so I'm hoping to pull this off, as it's something we've thought about for years.

You know, I've always loved that terrace at TOT, so I just asked whether it was available as an event space. I think my suggestion would be to think about your favorite spots in Epcot/DHS/Animal Kingdom and then talk to Disney Catering & Convention Services about whether they are available. You can also check out my list of event venues and photos, HERE.

The Roots are our friends and came to the party as our guests, not hired vendors. We are just fortunate that they never go anywhere without a camera! :goodvibes

IllumiNations parties are SO much fun! You have a good group size that will qualify you for some of the best locations, too. Happy planning!

I already looked at all the pictures on your blog, but thought I would come on here to post. The area is so beautiful and I love the shots right on set. I love rollercoasters, but big drops straight down aren't something I enjoy so its been a long time since I've been inside Tower of Terror. I forgot how beautiful everything is in there! Looks like you had a fantastic night. I love the Illuminations cruises, its been a few years but I have done those before with family. Definitely a great segway into your dinner at DHS. I guess I might need to add some photos to my GF dinner report after we have our Illuminations anniversary dinner next week :goodvibes

Oh please do! That report is such a great resource for those planning private dining at the Grand Floridian.

Happy (early) anniversary! :goodvibes

I can't believe you were on the lake the night we were at Epcot! So silly..you could have sent me a text and I would have snapped pictures of you from the bridge..I was right there!! standing on the bridge to France having our picture made..lol

What did Patrick think the tux was for? Just dinner at the Yachtsmen?

Yay Carrie! I absolutely love this idea! Plus it gives me a great reason to get my husband back into a tux again. :goodvibes If I tell him we're doing a dinner at ToT, he'll be so excited.
