I have heard on the board that people who fly pack cereal and granola bars and snacks in there suitcase. How does everything not get squished and broken into a million pieces by the time you get your suitcase back??? Also people say they said a package to the resort? How much does this cost? I live in Canada and can only imagine the price they would charge me to send a case of our bottle water to the resort!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Our mail service sucks up here and it hard enough to get my bills sent to me on time let alone a package to the US.:scared:

Any advice I will take it

So for the meat and cheeses (for sandwiches), I freeze and put into a soft sided cooler.

Pack water bottles, but not soda (can buy the liters pretty cheap at the resort, but the water bottles kill us).

I don't bring bread either - again at resort.

But then I buy pringles (in container) potatoe chips, cheese sticks, mayo, salt / pepper, cereal (buy milk there), and other snack foods. They seem to make it okay. Also, I put in sandwich bags to break up snacks to smaller portions for the park, and leftovers.

Throw in liquid laundry detergent (use concentrate, and pour a little out so okay with expansion),and put in zip lock baggy.

I use my worst suitcase, in case it explodes, so I don't care if it get's destroyed (but hasn't happened yet in 5 times).

Finally, I weigh it so it's 45 pounds, and start another suitcase if needed. Then I use the cases for purchases on the way back.

Really, stuff is packaged so well nowadays, it comes out just fine. Cookies, chips, etc... and buy plastic over glass, and you'll be fine.

Hope this helps, Goldi

If you don't want to do this, people have mentioned using gardengrocer successfully.

If you go on staples web site, I have ordered a case of water to be sent to the resort.

There are several grocery stores in and around WDW.
They sell their products, cereal, granola bars, water... at very reasonable prices.
Much cheaper than shipping and exess bagage weight fees.
Good luck aLL,
Joe

I have taken those snack size boxes of cereal, pop-tarts, peanut butter/jelly, micro-wave popcorn with me. I just put it all in the middle of a suitcase. I haven't had any problems with it. Now, rather than do that, I just send an order to either gardengrocer.com or wegoshop.com and pay the small delivery charge. It's usually about $10 or so. Much easier than worrying about my groceries. I also can get water, soda, and dairy this way. They deliver right to the resort at a prearranged time. Very easy.

I have used gardengrocer.com and they were great. Delivered everything to the resort for $10 fee and bell services delivered to the room while we were out at the parks. No hassle and no lugging around heavy luggage filled with food and water.

Thanks everyone for the help. We are heading into Kissimmee the day we arrive any way to shop at the Superwalmart at marker 15. It is a ritual for us when we head to WDW and I get all our disney stuff there at 1/2 the price ( I know the taxi ride for 5 will be about 40.00 altogether) I just thought it would be nice to bring some stuff with us from home. Kinda already paid for so why not take it. We've never flown before we usually drive. The van has taken a beaten the last 4 years and I don't want to take it again. The meat I know I can't take due to the laws in the US about our meat. Never thought the little cereals and cookies would make it in one piece. Nice to know. Thanks everyone for your help and ideas. This makes things alot easier.:flower3:
