OK, I was able to call first thing this morning to get a PS for a Fantasmic Dinner Package on October 3rd. The latest reservation that I could get for Hollywood and Vine was 4:50pm even though Fantasmic is not scheduled until 8pm.

Anyway, my question is "will we be able to squeeze in the Mickey's Stars and Motor Cars Parade that begins at 4:30pm and still make our PS at 4:50pm?"

I am a little miffed that just because we are asking for the Fantasmic package that we cannot dine any later than that. Without the FDP, I could've gotten almost anytime from 5pm on.

Any strategies that you can offer for the parade and still making the dinner reservation would be appreciated.

Thanks, ya'll! Have a Disney Day! :earsboy:

Two tips:

1. Check the parade route on your park map and make sure you are on the same side of the street as Hollywood & Vine. If you get caught on the opposite side of the street, you won't be able to cross until the full parade has passed.

2. Position yourselves as close to the start of the route as possible. Remember the first car will appear at 4:30, but those further down the line won't even see the first car until 4:40 as the parade makes its way through the park.

As soon as you've seen the end of the parade--or all that you wish to see--hightail it over to H&V. The parade is no more than 20 minutes long, so you may just have to leave a couple of minutes early to make your PS.

I don't have any advice about the parade, however, I called yesterday to book the FDP for October 2. I was able to pick any time from 4-5:45; I picked 5:00. If you're not happy with your time, keep calling back, someone may cancel.

We are 3 weeks away from our trip and have been calling since about 7:15 at the 60 day mark. The latest we could get at Mama Melrose, 2 different nights(not for FDP) was 4:30. If we keep this PS we will miss the parade too.
Good luck!

***Updated...Thanks to a post on the restaurant board, we just called back now and were able to get 5:50pm. I guess times do open up as the trip gets closer.
