How to make soda go flat quickly???

I got sucked in by this question and only just realized it was an old thread. (RIP C.Ann)

But if anyone new finds it because they are searching on the same topic, I didn't see this answer. - We stir in a little sugar to make ginger ale go flat faster.

I noticed this post was an oldie, too. Sorry to hear about C. Ann.

I’ve always just stirred pop to make it go flat. I hadn’t heard about adding sugar and will have to give it a try.
