How to keep teens from being "bored"?

I know they really want to go to WDW...but lately they tell me everything is "boring" unless it's specifically geared to teens.

Which park is most likely to keep them happy?

We took my youngest son when he was 13 and 16. He liked the rides at MGM and wandering around WS at EPCOT. A perfect place to stay would be the EPCOT resort area. They also have the Boardwalk there. At 13 he hadn't been to Disney since he was 6, so we didn't really let him wander off much, but at 16, we let him go off to EPCOT if we wanted to just stay at the resort and relax (we had my 80 y/o MIL along, and she'd NEED that afternoon break from the August heat). We were at CR. I didn't really know about the EPCOT resort area until our next trip when DH and I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. I would have chosen that if I'd known. DS would have loved that.

I went nearly every summer as a teen and I was never bored, but I have always loved the magic of Disney. My favorite parks as a teen were MK and EPCOT. I couldn't really spend more than a half day at MGM. I didn't go to AK until I was an adult, so I don't know if that would be boring to a teen or not. We absolutely loved the waterparks, too!

My "supervisors" (never went with my parents) usually let me wander around either with a buddy, with my brother, or in a small group. When I was older (17-18) I was allowed off on my own, but with specific meeting times and places. If I failed to check in within 10 minutes of the set time, they were going to assume that something was wrong. (Needless to say, I was usually early to avoid getting in BIG trouble!) Of course, it really depends person to person... they wouldn't let my brother go off alone because he can be irresponsible.

Good luck!

I agree, some space and the ability to go off by themselves is the key - within reason and according to age. We stayed at the Beach Club so the kids could roam the boardwalk and visit Epcot. The Contemporary is also good - lots of space and walk or monorail to MK.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO way they will be BORED in WDW!!!!! :cool1:

Send them over to Universal IOA--it's essentially a teen thrill park.

my oldest stopped going with us when he was 16 or 17 and still says he won't go with us even if we would pay for it. My middle ds doesn't want to go back to Disney, but would rather just stay at universal the whole trip. My youngest still likes disney, but is also getting the universal bug. We were just at Disney in June and we just spent one day at the parks and didn't even go to Magic Kingdom. They just wanted to go to Epcot and MGM.

Oh my! I guess I'm lucky! My 14 year old son is never bored, he's a Disney lover like me. He's just excited to be down there like I am:) However, I have a feeling they would like MGM quite a bit for RNR and TOT, But they might like the mountains in MK too. Its hard to pick just one :flower:
