How to keep strapless prom dress UP!?!?

Well, it's slipping a little.

I was thinking of sewing velcro to her bra (which fortunately stays up nicely) and to the dress, but I'm not sure I can sew it to the inside of the dress and not have some stitches show on the visible side (under her arms).

I found some sticky-type velcro, but it says specifically on the box that it is not for use on fabric. ugh!

Is there a better way? Please help!!!

The bridal/dress shops make a sticky tape that works on strapless gowns.

My daughter always had this problem as well. :guilty:

I've heard good things about the tape - can't remember the name though, sorry.

toupe (too-pay, not sure if I spelled it right) tape!!!!! That stuff is wonderful for anything strapless! And unless she needs the bra for support, you can put it against your skin and it won't slide off!!! I used some for my sister in laws wedding that I stood in! We were all dancing with arms in the air holding drinks that were spilling and the dress stayed where it was supposed to!! No slippage!

I never had this problem *stands proudly* ;)

Pam is right. That sticky tape will work.

Get that tape! I have pretty big tatas and had a strapless wedding dress. That tape saved my life so I did not show off my girls to everyone at the wedding! :rotfl2:

But get the good stuff. Don't buy the cheap kind that they sell in the lingerie section of Target. That stuff doesn't work very well. :o:rolleyes1

I got the tape at Victoria Secrets and it works really well.

Unfortunately, there's not enough time left to order the tape online. None of the bridal stores near here carry the tape. I called and found out that a wig store 15 minutes away has a roll of 1" wide tape for $5.99. And a local dance store has a roll-on bottle of body glue ($15.00), which DD would have to apply to her skin above the strapless bra and then press the dress to it.

I'm leaning toward the toupee tape. What do you think? It will hold fabric to fabric, right? Does it release well when you need it to? Other options anyone? Thanks.

Call a beauty supply, is there a sally's near you? They will have it

Make sure the dress fits very tight around the waist. If it can't slip down there, the rest should stay up too (I speak from experience!)

I'd second this. I've never had a problem with strapless dresses falling down, just because I also make sure they're tailored correctly. If you go that route though, it will cost a lot more than a roll of tape lol, so the tape might be a better route.
