How to inquire about servers?

My kids all-time favorite server was Igor Latincic. Is there a way for me to find out if he still works for DCL and if so, which ship he is sailing on? He was on the Fantasy last time we had him. Also, how do I go about requesting a specific server?

Thanks!
Michelle

If you find that a specific server is on the ship that you're going to be on, just call DCL and have the request added to your reservation that you want to be seated at one of his tables.

Generally, asking here might turn up someone who's had him recently, if he's still with DCL.

That might be tough to pull off. Certainly request them if they are on the ship you are on.
But given that most of us book our trips a long ways in advance, could be hard to tell if he will still be with Disney, whether he will be on his break, which ship he is on. And I can't speak to how Disney Cruise Line operates but in other industries companies don't disclose IF and WHERE someone is working for fear of stalkers or violating privacy laws.

Ah, that's a fair point. Well, here's to hoping someone here has seen him recently! We'd love to at least be able to say hello. Our server on the Wish (in August) was nice, but didn't engage with my boys at all, and didn't really engage much with us at all. It made me appreciate Igor all the more! We're taking my SIL and her family on their first Disney cruise in a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping we get a great server, especially as my youngest nephew is Autistic.

We went on the Big Red Boat way back when. Our server wound up being a Matire de when we ran into him 20 years later.

Just sent an email to request our same server from our October cruise for our January cruise. The email response basically said what you did. No guarantees - he could be on a break or on a different ship. They did note it on our reservation though.

Those requests are helpful for the dining room managers, and they really do try to honor them if at all possible. But, the requests also are good for the crew members. Our favorite server has told us that when you do a request that goes into their record and reflects well on them that people are specifically requesting them as servers again.

We did that in June (Dream) and this month (Wish) and both times our request was granted since both servers were still on the ships. As the response says "Our dining team will do it's best to accomodate your request" and they usually do come through. We've even done that regarding rotations to avoid Enchanted Garden for disembarkation breakfast.

Just a note here, it's quite possible that a serving team will be broken up (due to promotions/vacations/whatever) and making a request for both of them will cancel the request, since DCL doesn't know if you have a preference for a specific server or assistant server.

Our requests were for just the server, not the assistant for that reason.

We sailed the Wonder in February and Ricky from Indonesia was our assistant server. Then we sailed the Fantasy in September and Ricky was our assistant server again. We had no idea he'd transferred, so we hadn't requested him. It was either a happy coincidence or someone in scheduling was looking out for us. We're back on the Wonder in August for Alaska and we'll be checking if he's back to request him for sure.
