You can scan them and print them, or make them archival safe. I usually include them separately so we can take them out and look at them - I use a CM thingy that's intended for photos you don't want to stick (I can't remember the name, its a clear folder with two lines of adhesive on the back)

I am doing this today! Last night I scrapped the last of our Disney photos. I am making pockets out of cardstock and I am going to tuck the maps inside. In the past I have used CM photo corners, that way the map can be taken out and looked at in desired.
