I posted this on budget board but I was thinking this was a more appropriate place to ask.......
We(family of 4) are staying in a cabin and have a package deal. My brother, sister in law and niece live about 3 hours away and are going to go to a park with us one day while we're there for a week. I was thinking it would be nice if they could stay with us one night before we went to the park and we all go to the park the next morning together.
There is plenty of room in the cabin but I was wondering..........

Should I tell the CM when we register?
Should I keep quiet since it's just one night and have them just come in as a visitor but not leave?
Could I register 2 vehicles when we check in and one be theirs but not really say there will be 7 people for one night??

I may be crazy to even try this and it was a very last minute idea. I was trying to help them avoid driving at 5am the day we meet at the park or pay for a hotel for one night if they didn't have to since they're already spening money to join us there.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
THANKS SO MUCH! :confused3

The cabins sleep 6 and an infant under 3, there isn't really room for 7 (if one is not an infant). The resort wouldn't allow this if they knew.

Otherwise, if it was a correct amount of people in the cabin - I'd just let the front desk know at check-in. I think the parking pads at the cabin are only for one vehicle, they would need to park in the lot.

Thanks.
It would be 4 adults and 3 kids ages 2, 5, 10. Since my 2 year old is till in a crib at home he will probably sleep in a pack in play or with me.

I know it's not perfect but it's just one night..they'd get there late around 10pm and we'd leave early for the park. They wouldn't even shower or use anything except to sleep.

That is fine - it's more about Disney's rules (maybe fire codes, that is what I've heard). Personally, I'd just let the front desk know at check-in that you'll have overnight guests. That way they should be able to get room keys and a tag for their car.

Your group configuration is fine for Disney's requirements, so tell the fornt desk that on "X" night there will be three more people in your cabin so they can get keys.

Won't they charge them for the extra people? Also, why couldnt they shower. Or use the facilities. Is it not your personal cabin? :confused3

I totally forgot about that - the front desk may charge like $5.00 each additional adult over 2 for the one night.

DVC doesn't do that, but the cabins have the charge (which the front desk may or may not impose). I'd count on them doing it - but it's still a bargain.

The politically correct thing to do is to tell the CM extra guests are staying. However, the human factor says to just say nothing, save the extra money and have fun the next day. They'll never know - no harm, no foul.:thumbsup2 :ssst:

The $10.00 or so is worth it to me to have the keys and a parking pass (though you might be able to get the second parking pass no matter what).

At the DISboards we will not suggest/recommend any behavior that is against Disney policy. We also will not condone our members advocation the breaking of the policies.

Please keep this in mind when posting

The cabins sleep six plus a child age 2 or under. Therefore you are within the alloted number of people allowed to stay in the cabins. I stayed in the cabins two years ago with my family of five and you will have plenty of room for your overnight guests. It would be tight if they were staying longer, but one night will be fine. The parents can sleep on the murphy bed in the livingroom and their three year old could sleep on the couch, while you and your family are in the bedroom. My youngest was in the pak-n-play and we just set it up at the foot of the bed in the bedroom.:thumbsup2 The biggest problem you'll run into is all of you getting ready in one bathroom. But if I were you I would tell them so that you can get the parking, because there is only room for one car at the cabins.

Hi we are staying at the cabins in sept (party of 6) there is a $10 a night charge for aditional adults. There is nothing to stop the extra members of your party using the shower facilities in the comfort stations which should relieve the bathroom situation :)

I just checked on AllEars, and it still says $5.00 per night ( all prices drilled into my head from working at DRC many years ago - $2 - campsites, $5 - cabins, $10.00 - values, $15.00 - mods, $25.00 - deluxe for the extra adult charge).

If it is $10.00 oer adult, that is something new.

As I have several family members that live in FL and we visit WDW several times a year, we have often done this. If one of my nieces or nephews do not join us for our whole vacation, one will usually join us for one or two nights. They tell the guard they are under our reservation and we then get a parking pass for their car from the front desk. I always tell the front desk of our added visitor and they provide an extra key and I have never been charged the extra adult fee, allthugh I was willing. I'm not sure if all resorts are the same but I have always found the resort CMs to be very undertanding when you are up front and not trying to hide anything. I do not see a problem at all.
