How to get your Disney fix between trips

Ok, maybe we went too far (or perhaps we are just cornier than ever these days) but DH and I went out to dinner last night. We went to a local restaurant chain that is pretty common down south here called "Golden Corral". It's a buffet place (and one of the few buffet places I'll eat at outside of WDW). DH insists we go there and on the way plays our CD of music from the Magic Kingdom (specifically frontierland) so that while we are eating there we can pretend we are at Liberty Tree Tavern! We ate the turkey, mashed potatoes, sliced steak, mac and cheese and other stuff they serve that's just like LTT. We kept joking that we hoped Goofy would be coming around to our table soon! (yeah I guess WE'RE a little goofy...)

In fact on the way to the restaurant, the CD started playing music to the line queue for Space Mountain and DH yelled "QUICK! Change the song!"

"Why?" I asked.

"Because we'll never have time to ride SM and make it all the way to Frontierland in time for our ADR's" he answered..

I LOVE it!

Everytime DS9 and I pass the airport exit --maybe a couple of times a month--we look at each other and the fun begins. We plot...
Here's the typical fantasy:
Take the next exit which leads to the mall.
Run in to Dillard's.
Go to housewares and get a couple of suitcases and a backpack.
Head to children's clothes. Grab 4 or 5 t-shirts and 3 or 4 pairs of jeans. Hope they have swim trunks out this time of year. Head to shoes and grab some Crocs. Don't forget the socks and unders. Better run over to bedding a grab a pillow. Need to be comfy on the plane!
Now take care of Mom. Grab a few outfits. Run over to make-up counter and hope they have a special! Go back to linens--forgot to grab some beach towels. Crocs! What did we forget?
On the way out of the mall, run into the electronics store and get a few gamboy games for the plane ride--surely that gameboy is in the van somewhere.
OK. Quick! Get to the airport and tell them we need the next two seats to Orlando. While we're waiting at the gate we better make 2 important phone calls. One to DH to tell him we won't be home for dinner! We'll be back in a few days! And one to CRO to tell them to expect us at Pop in a few hours.
We proceed through the trip including pool time and park itenaries.
We really get carried away!

When I lived in Seattle, my friend and I used to go to the Rainforest Cafe at the Southcenter Mall and sit with our backs to the rest of the mall and pretend we were at the RFC at Downtown Disney. Pathetic and sad, maybe. But it got us through the missing WDW blues.

Those are all really cute! I am not that creative to think of anything like that. Sometimes (well, I used to up until ours became a real mess) I go into the Disney Store and pretend I am in World of Disney in Downtown Disney.

I play my WDW cd's all of the time, my patient's walk into my office and say, "oh, no, not disney again". My reply is that my office is as close to the "happiest place on earth" as I can get without going to WDW

Hanging out on the DISboard's helps to pass the time too! Watching the little clips that show up on the boards.....and best of all....wearing my disney pj's.
