Hi all
I know you are allowed a free credit report every year but does anyone now of a way to get a free credit score?
As some of you may know I recently bought a new car. With the help of a very genrous relative we were able to pay cash. But because of timing we had to pay by personal check. They wanted to run a credit check and I agreed and I was able to see my actual credit score.
I was thrilled to see my score was 701. I knonw that's not super high compared to others on here but 12 years ago I was a stupid college student who lived on credit and wasn't as smart at all about budgeting, paying bills etc. I am not ashamed to admit that it took me a full 7- 8 years to get my act in gear. My credit score was in the very low 400s (may have been 401) But for the past few years I have been paying and paying.
I do check my credit report yearly (and thanks to the wonderful folks on the dis I have learned so so much about budget, spending etc) but was wondering how I could see my credit score. I would like to get it in the high 760s if not higher. Also was thinking I would like to keep closer tabs on DHs credit score as well.
Thanks so much for all that you have done to help and all the advice I will receive in the future.
