Help! We are taking the 7-night Disney Cruise on our honeymoon and then we will be staying in DisneyWorld for a few days after. We want to have our pictures taken in Magic Kingdom in our wedding attire. How do I get my wedding gown to Disney? I dont want to haul it around the cruise with me and I dont trust the airlines! I am afraid it will get damaged or lost!

Has anyone doen this?? Any ideas??

Thanks!!!
Jamie

Something just popped in my head about you wanting to be in Magic Kingdom with your wedding attire on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you and your husband can't wear wedding attire into the theme parks. The only way to get your photo taken with wedding attire in front of Cinderella's Castle, is to buy the exculsive wedding photo package. The photographer meets you and your husband in Magic Kingdom before the park opens, and will take your photos in front of the Castle and even at the top of the castle! (They let you walk up there.) The package is between $600 to $1,000. I can't remember the exact price!

You didn't mention if you already knew about the package. If you were already informed about this, and you're buying into the package, then I apologize for assuming you didn't know!

You might try calling a manager or concierge at the hotel you will be staying at. Maybe you can ship the dress to them, or if you flight comes in early enough maybe you can drop it off before you leave on your cruise? I didn't ship my dress down, but the hotel UPS'd it home for me, because we left on the cruise from our wedding. I made sure it had a tracking number and someone was waiting for it and following it as it shipped, so I didn't think twice about it while we were cruising.

Thanks for the ideas....I knew about the photo package already....it is kind of expensive but I really want my pictures taken there! I am afraid to ship it UPS...I am the kind of person that would worry about it the entire time! lol.....We are planning a trip in Dec 2005 and might plan it for then....that way I can take the dress with me on the plane and it will never leaver my sight. And DisneyWorld will be all decorated for Christmas!

Thanks again!!

Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that you have to actually be a fairy tale bride and groom in order to have the option of the magic kingdom potrait session. Which in other words means you must be married at disney using either the intimate or custom package. You can however arrange to have your pictures taken by a photographer at the Disney resorts and then you may indeed wear your gown but if you have your heart set on pics in the MK you can have honeymoon potraits done in any of the parks in casual clothing.

After speaking to DPS you do NOT have to have been married at Disney to have the wedding MK castle shoot.

I asked them as I did wonder about having this shoot on our first anniversary and it was indeed possible even if I had not got wed at Disney.

I am so glad that we don't have to actaully get married in Disney to have our pictures taken at MK. I have my heart set on it!
Thanks again!

Do keep in mind that the appointments can book up a year in advance, so make sure you contact DPS and make arrangements as early as you can, to ensure that you can get a day that you are there. They only do one session a day.

Jamie, I just wanted to post about the wedding dress predicament. I got married last year at the Wedding Pavilion and was scared to death to send my dress down through UPS or something else. Instead of paying for shipping, we just bought a round trip ticket for my dress. At that time, the fares were cheap (around $120) and it was well worth it to know that the dress would be safe. That way the DH and I could have a whole row of seats to ourselves. Just a thought!

That is awesome! I would have never thought to buy a seat for my dress! I am definately going to do that! I just bought my plane tickets for my honeymoon for $175 so that is well worth knowing my dress is right next to me and safe.
Thank you sooo much for that info! I am so relieved....one less thing I have to worry about!
