How to get to DS from AK

My mom, DS (2) and I are spending the am and early afternoon at AK in May. We then wanted to head to DS for dinner (Raglan Road) and shopping (the Disney shops) and will take the resort bus back to the YC. But, what is the easiest way to get to DS? My mom has mobility issues and I will not have a car seat for the 2 year old.

We live in downtown Chicago and the taxis here are not required to have car seats (which scares me). Is it the same in FL? where would I even pick up a taxi to get to DS at AK?

Is there a better resort bus to take and then transfer? I really don't want spend a ton of time waiting for buses.

Thanks

You can take a bus to pretty much any resort and then hop another bus to DS. Closest option from AK would be AKL I would think.

Some taxies do have carseats but not all. In the case where you need one it's better to call for a taxi. Otherwise there are usually taxis around the park exits and resorts most of the time it seems.

I would probably do one of two things...
1. Bus to AKL, take DS bus from there

2. Bus to SSR, then take the boat to DS.

Thought about the boat option. We stayed at PORS and loved taking the boat but that would take forever I think. how is boat from SSR? Are there multiple stops?

You might as well take the first resort bus that comes, except buses headed towards Magic Kingdom i.e. for Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Wilderness.

It goes directly over to DS...no other stops. It's about 15 mins if I remember correctly.

The problem with this is that the bus stops are spread out....If you're standing waiting for the AKL bus but you see the BW bus come in, you're going to have to run over to the BW bus stop and get in that line. If I was going to suggest any other resort bus, other than AKL, I would go with Pop or AoA.

Pop or AoA because they are closest to AK? They are larger resorts. do buses run more frequently for them?
