Looking to visit DL, hopefully next year, and could do with some advice on transport.

We'll arrive into LAX and probably stay somewhere we can visit the typical tourist sites and also visit Universal, then probably stay in Anaheim a few nights.

What's the easiest way to get between the airport, LA, Anaheim and back? Any advice much appreciated!

Since you're not just going to Disney, and will be roaming around, I'd say to rent a car.

The easiest way is to rent a car - now, that is likely not the cheapest though but if you are going to be moving around a lot and not just showing up to Disney and staying there, it is likely the most convenient.

We love the convenience of a rental car - but at LAX you still need to take a shuttle to and from the car rental places - not like other hotels where you can just walk up to the counter after picking up your luggage.

We always visit other places and do other things on our trips to DLR. We also rent a car. Traffic can be nuts in LA but we are okay with that. We just love the convenience of the car when other activities are involved.

I had heard traffic was crazy, so was thinking we would try to manage without a car...

I did not find traffic crazy at all - I used to live in Toronto and did not find the traffic any busier/crazy than there. There are people who are scared to drive on freeways etc, but if you are okay with large highway driving you will be fine.

Google maps will also become your best friend!! ;)

Oh, ha ha - just noticed you are from U.K. - I have never been so have no idea what traffic is like there but my understanding is driving in London would be much more chaotic than LA - just opposite sides of the road is all.
