I am making my first solo trip in 13 days and thought if I had a couple of pins it might be a good way to overcome some of my shyness and give me an easy way to strike up a conversation. I am worried that I will spend 5 days there and not talk to anyone :)

Does it make sense to buy a couple just to trade with CM in the parks? How does one do this? I have heard people talk about practically chasing down CM to trade I just am not that foward.

I already am addicted to my Eeyore collection, and so am not looking for this to be that big for me, I just thought it would be a great way to meet people on a solo trip.

Any ssuggestions would be appreciated :)

Hi
Its a good idea to get some pins for trading check out www.cheappins.com to look for inexpensive traders to use for CM trading I have bought from them in the past and had good results also if you will have a rental car you can go to Lake Buena Vista outlets or premium outlets and get traders for about $ 4 each Dont be shy CMs are used to pintraders although some may be more receptive than others! Also if you have time come to the Contempory hotel pin meet on Fri night from 7-10 its indoors and relaxed with plenty of room for traders (usually) so that you can learn more about pins also consider seeing Scoops pin demo @MK Mon -Thurs @1 pm he explains how pins are made and does flip for pins if you like he will make you a certificate at the end of the program sorry so long but dont be shy I often go to WDW for trading solo when the kids are in school (hehe) its fine! good luck and happy trading!

eeyore,

Trading with CM's is easy, all you have to do is to walk up to one wearing a lanyard and politely, ask them if you can see their lanyard. They will be more than happy to show it to you. If you see something that you would like to trade for, just let them know that you would like to trade for the pin and give them any Disney pin that you have, they MUST trade. Also while you are looking at their pins, strike up a conversation with them. Just ask them "easy" questions, Like "how are you today?", "have you done a lot of trades today?", "been busy?", "have you seen any CM's with new pins?", "do you know where the Traders hang out?", and when you are done trading or looking, tell them "thank you" and "have a nice day".

If you need pins to trade with CM's, DS pins work great and are cheap compared to the prices at the Parks, so "load up" at your local DS.

Have fun, talk to people, you'll do great!!!
