How to get mothball smell out of clothes

My dd is in a play and needed a costume- she got a dress from my Aunt that is perfect, unfortunately it smells so bad of mothballs!! Anyone got any suggestions? I've washed it a million times- hung it outside for DAYS...... I'm at my wits end!!

Can you Febreeze it????? Worked wonders for us. DS got sick all over his bed, and one of his favorite stuffed friends. I figured it was ruined anyway, so I sprayed it 'very liberally' with Febreeze, let it air in the laundry room for a couple of days, and voila!

My in-laws, their house, and anything that comes from there smells like mothballs. Blech.

That mothball smell is awful....my grandmother used them, and even the food that came out of her fridge smelled and tasted like mothballs!
