Geez, 2 1/2 months until I get married (9/30) already? :worried:

Anyway, we'll be down to Disney 10/1-7. We're planning on wearing the bride/groom ears for check-in, but my soon-to-be DW doesn't want to wear them all week. I seem to remember reading something about being able to get a pin to show we're on our honeymoon.

How do we go about that? Do we need to bring some type of proof? I seem to remember something about Town Hall, but isn't that in the MK? What if we're not starting by going to MK?

Thanks! :bounce:

We're getting married on the same day!! YAY! Congratulations. I know I am immersed in wedding plans now... it seems like every weekend until the big day is full! I told my mom today that I'm looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding (eek!)...we'll be wearing our ears too, but I'm interested in the pins as well. Sorry I can't help, I don't know where to get them either! We'll be there from Oct 2-8!! :wave2:

Any guest relations or City Hall at MK ...has pins...no you dont need any proof...they will happily give it to you....Congrats to you both and enjoy every min of it....

DH and I bought our pin at the Grand Floridian gift shop - it has Mickey and Minnie dressed in a tux and wedding gown and everyone noticed that I had it on all week. CONGRATS and have fun!!

So you know, there is a clasp large button you can get at any guest relations free of charge. There are also many "pin stations" around WDW and Pin Traders at DTD where you can purchase special wedding pins for keep sakes as well. DH & I collect them as WDW is our magical place where we met. So they are very special to us.

Blessings,
Winnie

Check out a photo on my disneymoon planning thread. We are wearing our "wedding theme" lanyards with all of our disney wedding/honeymoon pins.

Hey, HtomSirveaux (great name BTW, I used to enjoy MST3K), as others have said you can get free buttons at any ticket window at any park and they also have "Congratulations" buttons, which DH preferred since it just has the characters and it's not so "wedding." They don't ask for any proof and we actually got 4 of them. I also got a DFTW pin at GF and my MIL gave me a wedding one with Mickey and Minnie. So there are lots of pin options. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Ah, yeah it's the button I guess. At least that one's free. (It'll take a little work to convince her that we should get any other pins, but I can probably do it.)

Not that I'm actually expecting anything, but is it common to get any "extras" because they spot the pin/button? After paying for the wedding and trip ourselves, it'd be a nice surprise.

Thanks, all!

Some people say they've gotten some special things for wearing the wedding ears and/or the buttons, but we didn't get more than some nice "congratulations" wishes. Neither DH nor I was interested in wearing the ears, we had our picture taken in them at the store but we didn't buy them. The only things we got "special" was a certificate at our rehearsal dinner, a card with balloons and chocolates delivered to our room, at our day-after brunch my MIL told the server we had just gotten married so she called us up for a dancing and kissing contest with a newly engaged couple and a couple celebrating their 10-year anniversary (we won :rotfl: ) and the water launch captain let us "pilot" the boat (in dock) for a really cute picture. Because DH doesn't like to bring a lot of attention to himself we didn't make a big deal of it being our wedding/honeymoon at Disney or on our cruise. I'm sure if we had told everyone it was our honeymoon and really braodcast the buttons or wore the ears we would have gotten more attention and maybe more special treatment but it wasn't something either of us were looking for.

My DF and I were there less than two weeks ago and they had all new buttons. We got a univeral Congrats button when we got engaged in December. However, on our last trip we saw several types of buttons. My DF got a Happy Birthday button. Then some had the congrats buttons we received before. Then for "Hunnymooners" they had a new design I hadn't seen before. If I remember correctly Minnie and Mickey were dressed in wedding gear which made them clearly different from the others.

Yeah, we got the buttons too. They have Mickey and Minnie on them in wedding gear. We didn't get any thing either except for some "Congrats" and there were so many Honeymooners when we were there! I've never seen so many, but very few who actually got married in Disney World! The cool part though on a few rides...like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad...they made an announcement to everyone on the ride that we got married and it was our honeymoon...so everyone would clap and scream for us. That made it really fun and we got to be the center of attention. I know we got stopped like CrAzY for people to take pictures of us when we were in our ears and everyone stops to say Congrats! Those ears make your head start to hurt after wearing them awhile and the ears were making my DH's head hot a sweaty...haha! We wore them around Downtown Disney and the Polynesian for our wedding dinner, but that was it. I know they'd get on my nerves at a park all day and they'd get ruined as well. It was too hot when we were there! We did get a card and a wedding pin from the Polynesian, which was delivered to us at dinner...that was nice! :)

We got lots of free desserts, but that wasn't from the buttons. That was because our TA had told them we were on our wedding trip when she made our dining reservations.

Lots of "Congratulations," especially when I wore my bride ears.
