Anyone know how to get from SOG to Wilderness Lodge for a dinner reservation? I know I can walk to the Poly from SOG, is there a boat that goes from Poly to WL? How long will it take?

Also, can you see fireworks at all from WL? Is it worth visiting for dinner?

Thanks!

If you walk to the Poly you can take the monorail to CR and then take a boat to WL. (It might just be easier to take a cab depending on how much time you have ) As far as having dinner there is Aritst point which is more upscale and the food is very good or the Whispering Canyon Cafe which is more of a fun-filled rest. where the cm's interact a bit with you.( Hoot-Hollar Cowboy type of thing) Hope this helps.

There is not a direct boat to WL from the Poly, but you can take the boat or monorail from the Poly to the MK or CR and then take a boat to the WL. I would allow at least 1 hour for that and possibly 90 minutes, depending on the time of year. If you have a car it would probably be better to drive to WL.

You should be able to see the fireworks from the beach or boat dock. We could see them from the beach/boat dock at FW and it is further away. It is definitely worth visiting, whether you go for dinner or just to visit, the WL is a beautiful resort and not to be missed, especially during the Christmas season.

We saw the fireworks from our balcony (CR side..seventh floor). Pretty good view, considering. If you don't already know it, the seventh floor is concierge, but I bet the fireworks are visible from the 6th as well.

If you don't have a car, I would probably taxi to WL for dinner, then take the boat to CR and watch the fireworks, then take the monorail from CR to Poly and walk back to SOG.

Agreed. The view of teh fireworks from WL is limited. There is a public viewing area on the 4th floor balcony at the CR.

I agree. It is worth the trip just to see the resort. The WL has an excellent theme and the restaurants are very different. Whispering Canyon is loud and fun, with a western BBQ atmosphere. Artist's Point is simply my favorite restaurant, from the salmon to the buffalo steak to the desserts.

Getting there: walk to Poly, ride monorail to MK or CR, ride boat to WL.

If you want the full experience, take the boat from MK (between the buses and monorail), tour and eat at WL, see the boat parade from WL beach at 9:35, ride the boat to CR, see the fireworks from the 4th floor, ride monorail back to Poly. Fireworks are also great from the Poly beach.
