How to get from Disney to US

We arte looking at going to US and IOA next September.

It is me and my GF going for 2 weeks stay at PORS. We only really want to go to US and IOA for a day each and are looking at different ways and which would be the best.

To hire a car is £70 for the 2 days?

What other way and how much are they ????

Thanks every one

Have you thought about using a Mears Bus? I know that you can get these to the parks, or how about a taxi?

I have no idea of costs though. :confused3

You can get the bus - 50 from TTC to Sea World and then the 8 allt he way up I-Drive, get off opposite Wet 'n' Wild and it's a 10 minute walk from there. That would cost you $4 each return, but it'll take you an hour.

Taxi will be $40-45 plus tip each way; it'd probably be cheaper to rent a car for the day!

Mears is supposed to be very reasonable with their shuttles but no idea of the prices. We used the buses.

Personally if I were you, I'd cut my day down at POR down by a night, and stay either onsite at US or nearby on I-Drive. The money you'd save on the hotel if you stayed off-site would pay for the extra transportation costs. We paid £45 a night last year for a nice 3* hotel within easy walking distance of US.

Mears shuttle bus is great, you can book it from your room phone. You can arrange pick up and return times then or phone later with a return time. Its about $14 per adult return - much cheaper than a taxi if theres only 2 of you. We found them very reliable and great value.

I used mears shuttle to get to US & sea world and worked really well. Disney concierge booked it for us the day before and we phoned them up 2 hours before we wanted to go back to the hotel to give them a pick up time. It was just as easy as getting a taxi and much cheaper.

Thanks to every one for there help it looks like bus or a mears transport is going to be the best and the cheapest thank again every one.

We have used Mears a lot to get to Universal and Seaworld. Have always been a good and reliable company in our experiences.

I was just reading your post and had to ask DBF if he has joined the disboards lol

we are also going for 2 weeks in september its our first time going to US and had wondered how we were going to travel there as we dont plan to rent a car (cant afford it or the cost of parking)

I think we will use mears
