We are planning on hitting DQ when they open and hanging around until around 2pm or so before heading over to Typhoon Lagoon for the late afternoon until closing time. Anybody know the fastest/easiest way to get there?

Typhoon lagoon is almost directly across the street from Disney Quest.Just turn right as you exit parking lot. TL will be on the left less then one quarter mile

Can you really walk? Are there sidewalks?

No, I think it would be very dangerous. It's a very busy four lane highway and people drive quite fast. There are no sidewalks and It's quite a distance from the highway to the park entrance.

I didn't think so. It seemed like too easy an answer! I guess it's one of those "so close, and yet so far" type situations.

So, my question still stands -

What is the fastest/easiest way to get from DQ to TL that time of day? If we walk over to the Market Place and catch a bus, will there be a direct bus for TL, or will we have to transfer at a resort? If so, which resort would be the best choice? Any suggestions??

Simply go to the bus station near Planet Hollywood. It's a fairly short walk from DisneyQuest.

Most resort buses to Downtown Disney also serve Typhoon Lagoon. So it's very easy to get from Downtown Disney to Typhoon Lagoon on almost any resort bus. Just ask the driver of any arriving bus if he's continuing to Typhoon Lagoon.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the Pleasure Island bus stop was operating at that time of the day. I thought maybe busses didn't start stopping there until evening. I appreciate the suggestions!

Good question about the Pleasure Island bus stop. That would be worth checking out.

As for the rest of what I wrote, I'm speaking from experience. One morning last year, my teens and I took a bus from our resort headed to Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon. I got off at the Marketplace bus station to upgrade my AP to a PAP at Guest Services. My teens stayed on the bus and went to Typhoon Lagoon. I went back out to the bus stop. I asked the driver of first arriving bus if he was going to Typhoon Lagoon. He answered, "get on." I was the only passenger. I can't recall if we stopped at the Pleasure Island bus station.

The Pleasure Island bus stop WILL be in use during the day - it also serves the West Side.

At Pleasure Island / Planet Hollywood stop:

If the bus destination sign flashes Typhoon Lagoon alternately with a resort name, just board. The general rule is that the sign tells you where the bus is going.

It gets tricky if one of the destinations flashed on the sign is the same place you are boarding from. Here there is a chance the driver just began the run, forgot to reset the sign, and may change the sign to something else after you board. So if the bus destination sign flashes Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon, ask the driver if he is going to Typhoon Lagoon next since he may have gone to Typhoon Lagoon already and may not go back there right away. Normally buses pulling into Pleasure Island have a resort destination. Typhoon Lagoon comes before Pleasure Island / DD for some buses in the morning.
