How to get discount AAA membership?

I love the peace of mind AAA gives. Last weekend DD locked herself out of her car @ midnight! (lives away at college). She threw her coat, umbrella and purse in the back seat, waved goodby to her friends as they drove off, THEN went to jump in the front seat. BUT her car keys were in the coat pocket! Thank goodness she had her cell phone in her hand! She called her sister to read her the AAA phone # off sister's card, then had a bit of back and forth as of course HER AAA card was locked in her car. Luckily the AAA call center 'took' sister's number and sent out a rescue vehicle. grief. Worth every penny to me.

I've never seen a discount for AAA. Have used it a handful of times in 30 years of driving, and EVERY time I needed help, they came in a timely manner. I'm leery of insurance plans for towing/lock out service just because I've ALWAYS had such good service from AAA.

I've never found a discount for the membership itself but the discounts you get from having the membership are well worth it to me.

We got a great price on a windshield replacement (twice!) through AAA which was great as our insurance doesn't have a separate glass coverage and the replacement cost was well under our deductible.

Universal Studios offers a 10% discount on just about everything with your AAA card.

Hotel and restaurant discounts, picking up the travel books or trip-tiks (fun to have in addition to the ol' GPS) from the local office, all sorts of worthwhile benefits.
