Can I still get the DDE card if I am getting an AP ticket upgrade when I get to DW?

We are planning on getting free 4 day premium MWY tickets using our HH points and upgrading one ticket to an AP when we arrive at Disneyworld. I would also like to get the DDE card but is this possible? I have read here that you can pick up temporary DDE cards when you order them ahead of time b/c of lack of processing time to get them thru the mail. Can I upgrade my ticket AND get a DDE temp card at Epcot guest relations at the same time??? Has anyone else done this???

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot do both at the same time.

The DDE office is only open from about 8:30 until about 4:30 Monday thru Friday (excluding holidays). Once you have your AP in hand you can call them at 407-566-5858 and order the DDE with a credit card over the phone. They then have to process the charge and notify Guest Relations at Epcot Front Gate. When you call them they should be able to give you a time when you can pick up the temporary card.

Thanks! We should be arriving at DW on DME around 1pm. If I got the ticket upgrade and called DDE by 2pm do you think I could pick it up by 4:30 at Epcot guest relations or is that speed too unrealistic?

I just talked to the DDE office and they said that the card will be available after 5:30pm same day. (It's just a local call.)
