15 yr. Gymboree shopper here.

I used to buy and resell their items as well so I really got to know the ins and outs of the company.
Retail stores~ There are many various sales throughout the year. There's NEVER a need to pay full price for their items these days. Years ago...sales and coupons were hard to come by....which made their resale value much higher back then. Now...it's so easy to get good deals that you just can't make as much. Some of my favorite sales are circle of friends where you get 30% off everything in the store...including clearance. Also love fill a bag. Where not only do you get 30% off everything....you can also stack a 20% off coupon...making for really good deals~

Red balloon sale is also a favorite...where they bring out the old stuff from the back and put it as low price points...can also stack a coupon with this as well. You can almost always earn gymbucks during these sales too!
Outlet stores~ All outlet stores (with the exception of the outlet in N.Y. that carries overstock, damaged, etc. ) are the same. Lines are remade specifically for the outlets that were in the retail stores the previous year. For ex....puppy school was the back to school line in the retail stores last yr. for girls. So puppy school is the back to school line in the outlets this year. Sometimes they change it up a bit with different colors or might use a different animal ( monkey instead of hippos on a summer line this year). Each line comes out with the matching acces, hairbows, hats, socks, shoes, etc. They do use a slightly lower quality fabric on their items. And it definitely doesn't wash quite as well as retail. I rarely shop there much anymore as I usually have already bought the lines when they were in retail the previous year. But if I'm looking to find a piece to complete an outfit I'll stop in there. Starting price points are generally $8-$10 lower than retail ( ex. retail sweater $28, outlet $19.99) You can earn gymbucks at the outlet....but you can't redeem them there.
Janie and Jack~ This is Gymboree's premium line retail store. Higher priced items of course. Very high quality too. They make a limited amount of each line. So resale value is high! I make a killing off of my J and J items!! You can use coupons here as well...although they're harder to come by. And they do have sales some...but because of the limited quantity of their items...if you're wanting an entire outfit you may miss out on it.
Crazy8~ This is Gymboree's "budget friendly" store. Quality is definitely lower than Gymboree but still decent. They've had some really cute lines that I can't resist though so I buy it knowing that it won't last forever. They always seem to be having some sort of sale You can earn CrazyCash here...but their earning periods are less often than Gymboree. And there's always plenty of coupons for this store as well.
