I am an avid coupon shopper and make money when I go to drug stores and save a bunch at grocery stores. I usually buy my daughter's clothing at Kohl's when they have their 30% off sales. However, I have fallen in love with gymboree clothes. My daughter is particular with her style and has loved everything I've gotten from there (at yard sales). How do I score cheap gymboree clothes? There has to be a trick to it somewhere.

Buy off season - if you have a Gymboree near you, go in often and only buy from the sale racks in the back of the store. Chances are you will be buying last season's cast-offs, but if you are good at estimating sizes, you can pre-buy for next year.

Shop the clearance section of the website.

When you do make purchases in the stores, save your gymbucks, then redeem them. Look for "double gymbucks" promotions and the likes - but they don't happen very often.

Ebay is your friend. :surfweb: My DD7 wears 90% Gymboree and the closest Gymbo store to me is almost 3 hours away. Almost all of her clothes came from Ebay. You can get NWT (new with tags) or gently used Gymbo for very good prices. Some are the brand new lines, some are the very hard to find older lines. I have also had very good luck finding the hard-to-find coordinating hairbows, matching socks, etc. Learn the ins-and-outs of successful searching - let me know if you need tips - and be sure to check each seller's feedback ratings. If you do this, you can get some great deals on Gymbo on Ebay! It also helps if you learn your Line names. There are lots of sites out there where you can browse through pictures of past Gymbo lines to learn the names of the lines - it helps when searching on Ebay to be able to search with the name of the line as one of your search terms. This is the site I use - there are many others.

try gymboplace.com, individuals sell onthere and some got to the outlet and will pick things up for you. Also see if there is an outlet nearby. I got my DD5 school clothes from the one in Orlando while we were vacationing last month and I got a bunch of clothes and it was under $80.00

There are a few outlets. They are cheaper than sales for the most part, but not dirt-cheap. I have found that they don't always have complete outfits or all the accessories, but they are good for the most part.

Sign up for their rewards program and get copouns (I just got a 20% off one)

Shop the sale items with the coupon when they're giving out Gymbucks - I just bought full price $180, on sale for $128, then with my copoun was $102 (make sure you spend very close to $50 or $100)

Then, shop again when you can redeem Gymbucks - again, buy only sale items. So $75 of full pricw stuff on sale for $50, now costs $25.

Yes, but the outlet clothes are lines made specifically for the outlet or re-imagineering of lines that are a couple of years old. They are not made as well.

I always bought at end of season clearance for the next year. Youngest DS is wearing clothes from last year's lines. You can get them at a bargain this way. I've gotten things as inexpensively as $9 for a pair of pants to which I then added a coupon.

I have gymboree outlets near me in Va and I've been to the one in CT, and I've found them to have the exact same clothes as the regular gymbo stores, just last seasons or last year's clothes.

Definitely keep checking the sale section on-line, you can score some great deals.

I also always ask at the Gymboree store if they have some sale stuff in back that I can look at. The gymboree in the mall near my parents house in CT, always have TONS of extra sale stuff that they can't fit on the racks, and if they aren't busy, they'll bring the boxes out in my DS's size so we can look through. I've gotten some great steals that way as well.

I buy off season and use coupons and it's even cheaper than buying used on Ebay. Alot of times if you buy online and ask for a newborn box you will get a 20% off coupon with a long expiration date. And they do gymbucks ALOT. I also love Janie and Jack and I've found really good deals in store on the clearance racks. I used to resell my son's Gymboree and J&J stuff, but it got to the point where I had tubs of clothes everywhere so I just started giving the stuff to a friend of mine. Most of the stuff has really good resell value so you can make money to buy new stuff. I agree join Gymbofriends!

I am a reforming Gymboholic (kids are growing up) but there are several tricks to getting the best prices. First off NEVER pay full price. Gymboree always has sales. Circle of Friends is a popular sale they run every few months, you can get 30% off. Gymboree has also been putting out coupons in magazines like Parenting & Parents every few months. You can always look on Ebay to purchase coupons.
I buy off season (shop with Gymbucks and end of season sales, and save the clothes for the following year). I take advantage of the "extra 20% off sale prices" (they're running one of those promos right now as a matter of fact). Also you can buy Gymbucks on Ebay and use those to shop during Gymbucks redemption.

I have been buying Gymboree for 6 years and I rarely pay more than $20 an outfit. Often I pay less. I also love Janie and Jack. I stopped in and bought some t-shirts for my friend's son for $3.99 each! It really pays to be patient and shop those sales.

Be careful because they also make straight for outlet stuff- it may "look" like last years stuff but it's made more cheaply. Not everything and sometimes you get lucky- but just watch- for example something that was a sewn on type of appliques tuns into an iron on image at the outlets the next year. Nothing wrong with that but just realize that it is a cheaper item.

I buy from both places. I buy basics at the outlets- the plain shorts, pants, ect. The "special" tees and stuff sale at Gymboree. They put stuff on sale so often it isn't so difficult to get deals.

Depends on the outlet...there are two outlets near me in NJ. The one in Paramus has the exact same clothes/lines as last year, prices are good. The outlet in Jersey Gardens (Jersey City) carries their own "outlet" lines, and I agree, were not as adorable as the regular store (think Crazy 8, Gymboree's other store) This was the case last summer when I went BTS shopping in Jersey Gradens

I agree, I have seen the exact same items in the outlet that I had just looked at the past month in the store. But I guess that doesn't have to be true of all the outlet items.

Definitely do this! Go in during a slower time and if they have the stock they are always more than happy to bring it out. And, don't be afraid to ask then to check the price. Often their clearanced items aren't marked correctly!

Work at the store. Permanent discount w/o having to wait for sales. Get to unpack new shipments so can buy if DD a hard to find size.

Best of all-first crack at new lines. Gymboree would often have items that sold out nationwidew/in 3 days of hitting the stores and that then were not replenished. They just were more of a hit, premium quality or something else special. If you didn't buy it the day it came out it might be available on eBay that week or you just couldn't find it.

I worked a couple shifts a week when my daughter wore Gymbo.

15 yr. Gymboree shopper here. :thumbsup2 I used to buy and resell their items as well so I really got to know the ins and outs of the company.

Retail stores~ There are many various sales throughout the year. There's NEVER a need to pay full price for their items these days. Years ago...sales and coupons were hard to come by....which made their resale value much higher back then. Now...it's so easy to get good deals that you just can't make as much. Some of my favorite sales are circle of friends where you get 30% off everything in the store...including clearance. Also love fill a bag. Where not only do you get 30% off everything....you can also stack a 20% off coupon...making for really good deals~ Red balloon sale is also a favorite...where they bring out the old stuff from the back and put it as low price points...can also stack a coupon with this as well. You can almost always earn gymbucks during these sales too!

Outlet stores~ All outlet stores (with the exception of the outlet in N.Y. that carries overstock, damaged, etc. ) are the same. Lines are remade specifically for the outlets that were in the retail stores the previous year. For ex....puppy school was the back to school line in the retail stores last yr. for girls. So puppy school is the back to school line in the outlets this year. Sometimes they change it up a bit with different colors or might use a different animal ( monkey instead of hippos on a summer line this year). Each line comes out with the matching acces, hairbows, hats, socks, shoes, etc. They do use a slightly lower quality fabric on their items. And it definitely doesn't wash quite as well as retail. I rarely shop there much anymore as I usually have already bought the lines when they were in retail the previous year. But if I'm looking to find a piece to complete an outfit I'll stop in there. Starting price points are generally $8-$10 lower than retail ( ex. retail sweater $28, outlet $19.99) You can earn gymbucks at the outlet....but you can't redeem them there.

Janie and Jack~ This is Gymboree's premium line retail store. Higher priced items of course. Very high quality too. They make a limited amount of each line. So resale value is high! I make a killing off of my J and J items!! You can use coupons here as well...although they're harder to come by. And they do have sales some...but because of the limited quantity of their items...if you're wanting an entire outfit you may miss out on it.

Crazy8~ This is Gymboree's "budget friendly" store. Quality is definitely lower than Gymboree but still decent. They've had some really cute lines that I can't resist though so I buy it knowing that it won't last forever. They always seem to be having some sort of sale You can earn CrazyCash here...but their earning periods are less often than Gymboree. And there's always plenty of coupons for this store as well.

Actually....you can get better deals than the employees most the time! They only get their 40% discount off new lines. And they can't earn or redeem gymbucks. But like the PP said....they do get first dibs on the new merchandise. :thumbsup2

I find that if I use a 20% off coupon when there is a good clearance sale (60%) off that I'm getting a great deal. I use their Rewards Card plus their Visa (get an extra 5%) and it also gives me 1% back. Of course, I'm buying for the next season. I just finished buying summer clothes for our April Disney trip.
