How to Get Around Disneyland Parks & Hotels?

I have never been to Disneyland before, so I'm not sure how getting around to the theme parks and hotels works. We have dinner reservations at the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian, and I want to know what our best options would be to get from Disneyland or California Adventure to those hotels and then back to the park. We will be at California Adventure the night we eat at the Disneyland Hotel and we will be at Disneyland the night we eat at the Grand Californian, if that helps. Thanks!

You dont have to worry about it....DL is VERY walkable. You can walk everywhere, you dont need to take a shuttle or anything. Check out the stickys on the top of the page, I think there is a map up there somewhere. Its literally like a 10-15 min. walk from DL to the DL hotel. And those are the 2 places that are furthest apart for you, I think.

It is definitely walkable. You can also take the monorail from DL to the DLH. GCH is very close to the DL entrance, not a long walk at all.

I have never been to WDW but DL is a walkers dream. Everything is very close in proximity to everything else, LOL. What hotel are you staying at?? When exactly are you going?? <hee hee am I stalking you here?!?!? LOL>

From Ca. Adventure, to get to the Disneyland Hotel, walk outside of the park and take a left. Walk all the way through Downtown Disney and when you see the ginormous Sorcerers Hat, you are at the Hotel. I am assuming you are eating at Goofys Kitchen? If yes, keep on the path that takes you under the hat and keep going. You will see the back end of the hotel, just keep on going. Eventually you end up at Goofys.
To get to the Grand Californian, I have no idea. The only way I know how to get there is from inside Ca. Adventure, LOL. If you are in Disneyland, walk across the esplanade to DCA and then enter from the private DCA entrance? Hmmm! Sorry I am not more help on that one, LOL. Have a great time and hey! To get to the GCH walk thru DTD (half way maybe?) and turn left right before Libby Lu. You'll be walking through some open gates into the hallway, turn right and you'll be facing the lobby.

It would have been less walking if you had planned the trip the other way. GCH on the day you are in CA (use the private entrance/exit). And DLH on the DL day (use the monorail). Ah well, the best laid plans. Besides, you may find yourself switching things around a little anyway. CA doesn't take a full day to see and DL can take days if you are really into it. That being said, we find ourselves in CA everyday of our stay. We just cannot get enough of TOT and Screamin'.

We are DL vets and just got back from WDW. We spent more time trying to plan our transportation!!

I love DL because everything is right there. Walking is the only way to do anything there and we like that.

You will have a great trip and be surprised at how accessible everything is.

We are going to Goofy's Kitchen! It sounded like a fun place! I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm sure I will LOVE it!

Thanks for all the great info everyone! Yeah, I'm still trying to plan our exact schedule, but I am glad to know everything is walking distance and it won't take too long to get from place to place. Does anyone know where I can find a good map of both the parks, hotels, and Downtown Disney? The only one I could find is on the Disneyland website and it's too small when I print it to read and really use. Thanks!
