How to Get a Teacup Table?

We set sail on the Dream in three days. How do people tend to get an Enchanted Garden teacup table? Is it pure luck, or are they typically given to those with concierge cabins? Has anyone ever requested one?

I thought of this after seeing the thread about whether people like them or not. We're a party of three and I've always wanted to try one. Wasn't placed at one on the Fantasy last year. There are so few that I know the odds are against it, but was just wondering what people's experiences were.

We had one and it was pure luck - not concierge and we did not ask for one. I personally thought it felt cramped for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and would not want one again.

If you are not assigned one try going to a breakfast or lunch offered in the Enchanted Garden and requesting to be seated at one. You may have to wait for one to open up but if it's important to you this may be worth the wait. FYI- When I traveled with my Mom, tween daughter, and myself a couple of years ago we booked via a last minute Florida resident ,super cheap, inside cabin and were assigned one of these tables without requesting it so I know its not just concierges who are assigned these tables. As a matter of fact two years later the three of us traveled on a four day Dream where we were booked in concierges and were assigned a table in the Enchanted Garden.

Good to know that anyone might be assigned to one. I'd like for us to have the table at dinner. It isn't worth a wait to me, and breakfast, even at the MDRs, is a pretty short meal. We never do lunch at the MDRs.

When we had one, we were originally assigned a "regular" table, but our head server (had him on at least 2 other cruises) switched us, thinking we'd enjoy it.

I think it's a head server option to place people in them. But you can probably just have the request placed on your reservation.

We had one in November. We weren't concierge and didn't ask, so I guess it was just luck. The table was a little small, though I might not have noticed if others hadn't mentioned it. The one thing I did notice was that there was a lot of extra seating space. Meaning more space for my kids to try to put their feet up, lay down and do all different kinds of configurations during dinner. It was cute though & the kids were excited when we walked in and were escorted to this table.

We had one the first night of our Dream cruise last year. Didn't ask for one, didn't ask for a particular rotation or anything. Not concierge. It was fun, but not a big deal. I think asking to sit there for a lunch or breakfast is a great idea.

Tho table numbers can change, thy usually don't. So when we request our dining rotation via Shoreside Concierge, we always ask for a table for two, #59 or 73. Got them each and every time.
But as noted, they are not "reserved" for Concierge or anyone else.

Most people don’t like them. You are crowded. Those not in good shape, Older or other issues will have a harder time getting in and out than a normal table. If your Pooh size it sucks also.

If you still want one call DCL before your cruise and request one. When you get onboard go to see where the dining room changes are at and ask if you got one.

On my last cruise, we were a party of 4, concierge, and we're seated at a regular table. If you want to sit there, maybe ask nicely and some pixie dust may fall on you

We were a family of 4, first timers last time and we got seated there. Didn't mind them. Although I'm not a fan of booths generally because I find them cramped.

Just asks.... On my last cruise while the head server was walking us to our table we where passing the teacup tables and I told him it would be nice if we could get one of those tables and he said "no problem" and seating us at one.

We have had success asking to sit in one of them during a breakfast or lunch in Enchanted Garden.

We DID sail Concierge, it was our first cruise, so I had no idea about the tea cup tables, but we were just seated at one anyway. It seemed to me like we were given the better seats at all 3 restaurants....I figured it was because we were traveling concierge but I guess it was just luck! We liked the tea cup table but there was only 3 of us and I could see how it would be cramped with 4.

We have had them twice in 15 cruises and did not sail concierge on any of them. I think it is random. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) and find them cramped so we were not thrilled either time.

@Shanti , did you get one? :)
No, we weren't seated at one and I didn't ask. I had already requested & received a private table & didn't want to be too demanding. We also never had dining room breakfast or lunch.

It's still on my bucket list, so maybe next time...

It's not based on concierge. We have sailed concierge 3 times and never been seated there.
