Being gluten -free, I love the lava cake they serve at the Polynesian, and would love to know the ingedients. I have filled out the recipe request form at Ohana, at Kona Cafe and at the sushi bar, but they have never sent the recipe. I asked a chef at Ohana and she said they are not the ones who answer the requests. Any ideas? Thanks!

I couldn't find the lava cake for you, but I found a chocolate cake recipe from Boma. http://allears.net/din/recipes/rec_flcc.htm

I emailed Disney World guest devices requesting a recipe. It took about two months but they did send.

it can take a while. i am GF too and wanted the recipe for the meatballs at tonys. it took about 4-6 weeks to get it. and then they forgot to attach the recipe and i had to wait another 2 weeks for the reply. i am guessing they just don't have a lot of people that are handling these requests as it is not vital to the business.

Thanks, all, I guess I'm just too impatient. Maybe it'll still show up. And thanks, marmalade for the recipe! popcorn::

We were at the Garden Grill back in December and enjoyed the salad dressing. We told that to our waiter. He went in to the kitchen and printed the recipe out for us. Maybe you can try asking your server next time. :surfweb:

Thanks, Lu Ann for the link! But I wonder if this recipe is an older version. It seems to have a peanut butter instead of chocolate filling, and just lists general purpose flour. My main interest is in knowing what gluten-free flour they use, since they now serve this as a gluten-free dessert. The Poly seems to serve the same lava cake that they serve at the Food and Wine Festival, which they also claim is gluten-free, if you leave off the sauce there.
